This also gives us some defense and shot blocking and passing!!!  We get a look/see at Noah to see if he can rebound his career before deciding whether or not to re-sign him!!

The Bulls are apparently desperate for a SF and ET can play that position.

Thoughts?

We are not going to pay Sully 14 or more per year and we should NOT!!!  I think we would get Noah's Bird Right's, correct?  ET simply needs to go.  Shooting 5 three's tonight was the icing on the cake!!!  Lee is a JOKE!!!

Chicago does this due to badly needing minutes at SF and being intrigued as to how Sully might play beside Gasol.

I think this is a pretty fair trade for both teams, so credit for that!!

I'm just not really sure if it does much to help us, mainly because:

* Replacing two bigs for two bigs doesn't really help front-court logjam
* I don't think the move improves us much this year, or in the future (both are 30+)
* Gibson kinda feels redundant to me, given we have Amir Johnson
* I worry Noah is too much of an offensive liability to justify any significant minutes
* I feel we kinda need Turner, as we don't really have another dependable backup for Crowder
* I'd rather give extra front court minutes to Mickey, rather than to Noah/Gibson

I don't by hate the idea, I just wonder if there might be one out there that better tailors to our needs.

Some GREAT points.  We would need to make MORE trades to clear out time for Mickey IMHO!!  I do think it improves us this as I think Noah's passing is FAR underrated!!  I feel you on playing Mickey!!!  Gibson is three times the athlete than Amir at this point due to Amir's horrendous feet and ankle issues, which is sad!!!

Thanks for the feedback!!!

It's a nice return for those 3, but without any other trades occurring who backs up Jae? I think most of us agree that JJ is more suited to the 4.

We follow this up with Amir for Ryan Anderson.  I think Anderson stretches the floor a LOT for a PF, much like a SF!!

This also frees up the logjam on the block!!

lateral move that does nothing for our season or our future.  Loved Noah's game but he's really declined.  pre-injuries, I'd have been completely on board with getting Noah.

the follow-up suggestion for Ryan Anderson.  no thanks.  I'll keep Amir over him.  Anderson has one skill - shooting.  while we could use that, we don't need another forward that doesn't rebound or play D.

Good luck with that. And as soon as you add picks, it makes no sense for Boston.

Care to explain further? Without picks it makes sense for Boston but with picks it doesn't?

Interesting that it seems to now be public that the Bulls are entertaining trade discussions for Noah, Gibson, and Gasol!!!!

Maybe I was on to something.

Right. We should not give up draft picks in this deck chair shuffle. Without adding any, Chicago can find a better over all deal than this (since you'd trade Gibson and Noah separately anyway).

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I still think Pau is by far the best player out of the three on the trading block. He would instantly be able to help our team and re-signing him to a ~3 yr deal would be reasonable; he doesn't strike me as the type to have a sharp decline. He is still an excellent player, unlike the other two.

Agree with this. Getting Anderson at this point wouldn't be any different than getting Kevin Martin. Those guys can do one thing and one thing only: Shoot, and nothing else.

Noah at this point believe it or not, does not have much more value than David Lee. He's degenerated that much thanks to Thibs.
