It's a nice return for those 3, but without any other trades occurring who backs up Jae? I think most of us agree that JJ is more suited to the 4.

We follow this up with Amir for Ryan Anderson.  I think Anderson stretches the floor a LOT for a PF, much like a SF!!

This also frees up the logjam on the block!!

How does trading 2 bigs and getting 2 back free up the log jam on the block (ET isn't a big)?  All you're doing is reshuffling the deck.  The Bulls are not going to trade 2 bigs like that sorry.  I do think they may trade one but check out the Bulls history they don't do many blockbuster deals especially during the season.

I don't see where this trade makes any sense for the Celtics.

Noah doesn't have much more value than David Lee at this point. He can rebound and pass but his offensive skills have declined to the point his a liability on the court.

That's his shooting percentage over the last 6 years. Anyone notice a trend forming? He's going to be a FA so there's no long-term in acquiring him and it's not like he's going to put the Cs over the top or anything.

Taj Gibson is Brandon Bass. Another adequate but not even good PF. Again, there's no gain with him on the court over, say, Amir. And again, he's an expiring contract so there's no long term benefit.

As for what the Cs give up, Lee isn't worth a darn (AHEM, I TOLD YOU!!!). But they're giving up their MVP from last year in Evan Turner. I'd love the Cs to be in a position to not play Turner, but he keeps earning minutes playing multiple roles for the team and generally does pretty well. They also give up the guy with the most potential in Sully who happens to be the only one in this deal that is under control after this year (RFAs don't move teams much).

And what does this solve? The Cs lose what little depth they have at SF while the logjam at PF remains. So this then requires another deal...shuffling the deck chairs isn't very helpful. I think we could do better. The only possible way I'd make this deal is if the Bulls threw in a 1st rounder in the upcoming draft (we'd throw in a 2nd rounder).
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Those shooting percentages don't alarm me, because Noah doesn't attempt many shots a game. He's gone from 10 to 6 to 5 over the last three years. He's not in the lineup for scoring. And while he's not a threat to score, he's a very good passer for a big, averaging close to 4 assists for the last several seasons.

I'm not sure about the rest of the trade, but if someone offered me Noah for Lee and a non-lottery 1st rounder, I would definitely be interested in that.

This trade doesn't move the needle for this team. Think like Danny, THINK BIG.

You're right, he's not in the lineup for scoring. He's a pretty massive detriment in that regard and compounds the Cs problem with having no big men on the roster who can consistently score. Currently that's probably a bigger problem than not having a great defensive anchor. The Celtics are 3rd in D efficiency. They're 23rd in offensive efficiency.

I agree that Noah is a good passer and I'd while I'd move Lee and a (mid) 2nd for Noah, but there's no way in hell I'm giving a first for a guy who has fallen off the cliff offensively, is constantly injured and whose contract expires this year. That's now into la-la-land territory. Would you offer Lee and JR Hunter for Noah? Lee and Bradley for Noah? Because those guys are non-lottery 1st rounders and I'd laugh and hang up the phone if you offered me that deal. Just because the Cs have an abundance of picks doesn't mean they should waste them.
