Why this sensitivity for Rondo continues I have no idea. It's like a wound that some will not let heal, it gets torn open every few days on this forum.

Get over it, he's gone. Smart had nothing to do with the trading of Rondo. If it bothers you that the team played better when he was gone, you must be taking great delight in the way the C's are currently playing.

Downing Smart every chance you can, because you miss your boy, is childish.
Smart sucking has nothing to do with Rondo.  ::)

The question is, why when Rondo is brought into any conversation, negatively do you feel it's your duty...your obsession to defend his honor. The tone you take when doing it is much like a child. You just can't tolerate if anyone has an opinion of Rondo that differs from yours.
Sorry pal, You need to better examine these irrational feeling you have for a former player.
I guess I'm not allowed to comment on Rondo. Haha

Do you even think before posting? I have responded to maybe a few posts about Rondo in the last year. You are the one with the agenda.

You're wrong, at one time I was a fan of Rondo, but in a normal context to the Celtic team. When he no longer fit, it was time to let it go. You have to learn to except that not all Celtic fans, are fans of Rondo. And simply let it go.
And the rabbit hole goes deeper. You clearly don't know how to follow a discussion.

I corrected a poster on this board that Rondo actually posted a good field goal percentage. Show me where I am saying we need Rondo back or anywhere else on these boards.

So what exactly do I need to let go other then stop responding to idiots like you.

Under many circumstances I might agree, but he doesn't always shoot that bad, and when he shuts down an all star (Harden says hello) he's kinda worth it.

What I would say is all the folks that criticized  Rondo for not being able to shoot....pretty soon they have to make a choice between going after Smart or boarding the hypocrite train.
Rondo shot 50 percent or close to it for most of the years with the Cs.

The train is derailed. Nice try.

It's nit-picking but Rondo was a scorer not a shooter. It's pretty well documented that his jumper wasn't great. And that he rarely took it even when open. His FG% was high because of his scoring at the rim.

So he's right to say Rondo was not a great shooter and he's right to say that the Smart apologists will look like hypocrites if they take a different attitude with Smart. For the record I'm a big fan of both. Rondo made me a Celtics fan and Smart is just nasty on defence!

Shooting the ball well at the rim is still a shot. Rondo also had a decent mid range jumper. Smart does not yet.

And just because I'm saying this, and this is not to you cause you are actually level headed, that Smart won't become a better shooter. He's just not that good right now.

In terms of viability as an NBA players, there is a huge difference between someone who can't shoot but can make a layup, and someone who can't shoot OR make a layup.

Not to mention, Rondo was a wizard on offense. He's much more than a shooter. So you can't say that we have to place equal emphasis on shooting with Smart and Rondo. It is much more important to Smart's offensive contributions to be a better shooter than Rondo, but at the same time important. Which is why I pointed out that Rondo shot close to 50 percent while on this team. He didn't kil us with his shooting like Smart does.

I agree. I watched some old clips of Smart at OK State. He just has no lift. So these guys can't blame injuries. I still think he's smart enough to figure it out. Just has to get craftier at or around the rim. But going straight up into guys is not working for him.

...your forum name says it all dude, you need to pull down the Rondo photos on the wall, and relax.

Here is your response, the crack "The train is derailed. Nice try" is quite telling and unnecessary.

The train is derailed. Nice try.

In 9 seasons with the Celtics Rondo shot 49% or better only 3 times, shot above 30% from three only once, and never once shot 65% or better from the line.

To say "Rondo shot 50 percent or close to it for most of the years with the Cs" is just plain wrong.

Don't mean to be rude, but you really should check the numbers before you decide to use those numbers as a justification for telling other people they are wrong.

 :)
Oh you weren't being rude. Just stupid.

He shot 49 percent his second year. 51 percent his third. 51 percent his fourth. 48 percent his fifth. 45 percent his 6th. 48 percent his 7th. This was pre-injury and most of his years.

"just stupid" is unnecessary.

Oh come on now, everyone jumped on Keep Rondo and he was right and proved it. Sure KeepRondo's tone is a little off but h was getting names and negative tones first so it's understandable.

@KeepRondo don't stoop to their level. You are right. No need to gloat.

The first person to reply in this thread was kind of right before it all got derailed. The people who turned on Rondo will also turn on Smart.

I called the poster stupid for arguing with me over the difference of 47.5 and 48 percent. I then called you stupid, rightfully for not being able to follow a discussion.

I also used facts. Not an opinion. Keep trying.

TP and thanks. I'll leave it be. There's just no point arguing with some people.
