Well it's really hard to say what fair value is. "fair" is hard to find, things are worth what people will pay for them. We got the picks rather cheap. It cost us guys we wanted to move on from and we got so many picks because the nets were moving/ new owners and wanted stars (no matter how old) at any cost. So we got a deal there. Obviously we would want to get more for them in a deal than we gave up. But surely if you can get a legit superstar in their prime for them you do it. You take the sure thing every time. With those picks there are no guarentees that there even will be true superstars in those years, let alone that we would get them, let alone that we would be able to develop and keep them into their prime. So many risks. The odds that one of those picks turns into someone better or as good as LBJ is just astronomically low.
Back to reality, I think those picks will all be offered as they come up, year after year paired with an expiring contract and some assortment of lesser assets for stars. Who knows if anyone will take any of those deals but I expect danny makes them. This year he is probably working the phones on a deal based on Lee and the 2016 nets pick as a starting point for lots of guys(DMC, Gasol, Melo, Howard, KD exc.) Chances are low that we get one, but he will probably offer the 2017 nets pick with Amir or some other expiring max contract for a different set of strs next year, and the 2018 pick for another set of stars the year after. At some point some or all of those picks will be traded for a star.
This idea that we should keep those picks absolutely no matter what is just silly.
