THE PUTBACK-THE DIVE and yesterday THE REBOUND-last year suffered a severe high sprain effected him all season ,summer league tore his fingers out of socket, than almost dislocated his knee
smart propels himself, you would think he would be somewhat hesitant after his injuries
no worry there and as we have seen this year he gets up and powerfully
anybody setting a screen on him must cringe, marcus is a force
he sat out 17 games and missed some summer training and IS ONLY 21
and looking to get to the rim

good points rollie. i love how smart plays with incredible passion. he is, to me, a short KG.

but the way he throws his body around is scary. that rebound against the bulls was fantastic. but did you see him hit the floor? and the put back a few games earlier, impressive. but then he hit the floor really, really hard.

this is a concern i agree.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I don't think you will ever be able to tell him to calm down on defense. However, on offense... it'd just be more comforting to see him pick his spots better and not always try to bull his way to the rim.

I highly recommend just adding a floater to his game. This would reduce impact significantly.

agree with all the points. He is capable of driving but doesn't do it often. Maybe it is his frequency of getting injured when he drives to the paint.

I think it helps his case if he plays a little like Paul Pierce...not too explosive or overly athletic, but can get to where he wants to.

Pierce was one of the most methodical, skilled scorers of all-time; Marcus can't hit a free-throw. I think we are putting the cart before the horse here. He still has tons of potential, but he needs to score in whatever ways possible before he can pick and choose how he will score.

He's like the stubborn pitcher who keeps trying to over power guys with a weak fastball.

Only way he's gonna get better is to get more crafty around the rim. Taking it straight up into guys is not working.

Agree. He doesn't have the body type and the specific kind of athleticism to get up over defenders and finish. He's going to have to develop that floater, and also perfecting finishing around the rim with both hands.

Give it time.

Im Worried about him making a basket.
He apparently was working on it during the summer. I remember them showing a clip of him practicing it before one of the summer league games.

I think for every jumper he takes he should be taking 2 or 3 shots on drives to the hoop.
