this is a tough one. Detroit played smart when they sat Drummond because the Celtics were eating them up inside. when Drummond left Brad had no game plan except to depend on outside shooting which, once again, wasn't there. so far R.J. Hunter and James Young have shown nothing especially as far as being "go to" shooters. and I'm really getting tired of using the term "so far" when talking about James Young!!!

I'm putting the fourth quarter of this game on Brad and a lot of these recent losses on Danny for not getting a dependable shooter in here sooner.
It's very frustrating watching the C's blow these games that should be definite wins.

I would say primarily off games from IT and Smart. Thomas did put up his usual 20 but most of that came in the 4th quarter. The rest of the game he was pretty bad at what he does best: Putting the ball in the bucket. If he was hitting his usual FG%, this game would have been a blowout win.

Smart couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight. He's not exactly a great shooter even when healthy but I still attribute his offensive woes to rustiness from his injury.

This team seriously needs an offensively dependable big. Johnson and Olynyk weren't too shabby tonight but the Celtics need another feared scorer besides IT because IT can only do so much. Crowder and Turner also weren't that bad but no team plans extensively for Turner and Jae.

In recent interview Danny said he's looking forward watching Celtics in the second part of the season. I belive he ment after the trade deadline, so yeah, blame Danny.

On a night when Avery Bradley's injured and your best offensive player goes 6-20, you're not going to get much perimeter shooting. Hunter and Young aren't ready. Be patient. This is what the team is right now.

Yet he was actually worse like 1-14 when we were up by 10 for most of the game.

Without IT we don't come back to take the lead in the 4th so you can't pin a loss on just one guy.

I don't blame anyone for this loss.

We aren't very good at home for whatever reason and Detroit has more talent than us.

IT4 doesn't agree with you, he pretty much blames the rotations, "inconsistent rotations will lead to inconsistent play." He blames coach but doesn't at the same time LOL. It's like a say it and walk it back musical chairs he is playing. He isn't the only one to say it and he/they have said it b4.

I agree with them but I'm not sure I like them saying it publicly, especially since CBS has to basically defend himself which means he has to go against his players. Lots of tension when he/they are asked to respond to these things.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I know IT sucked, but we were good even when he wasn't scoring. When he finally did begin to score, he was the only one doing so and each shot by other members of the team were just awful. I know it's not a popular opinion, but if I have to choose one, I will put this one on Smart. This is the kind of game that makes you wonder about his future as an NBA starting caliber player.

CBS - not enough KO + Crowder (together) for long stretches after Q1 and not subbing in Turner for the offensively struggling Marcus Smart in the second half. We started hot - why kill the momentum?

I am with you on James Young.
At this point i would trade him for empty roaster spot. maybe give a D-league shooter a chance.

Amir was the only one doing his job in this game. but even he missed a very make-able shots.
Stevens rotations were bad.  bad shot selection from several guys.
you can even blame DA for not getting us a true 3 point threat.

True - he should have played when Amir was sitting, since we were only scoring under the basket.
