rozier is nervous in his first few NBA games and everyone thinks he will be terrible going forward.

i've watched him play live 3 times in maine, and he does everything well. and, no, i't not just because it's the d-league. a lot of guys in that league put up stats via volume, but don't make their teammates better at either end. rozier on the other hand actually looks like he knows what he's doing.

he just needs to calm down on the NBA floor. he is still in the infant stage of his career. he has the athleticism, handle, vision, and scoring ability to be a great NBA player. the high assist total isn't a fluke either, the guy has the potential to be a floor general, his body language is excellent.

i'll be very surprised of he's a bust.

Amen ant TP brother.

Wasn't it just a couple of years ago when people were posting:

"Danny Ainge missed again - Avery Bradley"

I don't remember much blow back on the Bradley pick. Folks freaked briefly while they trialed him at PG, before he league went small, and they realized he could play his natural position.

Rozier, on the other hand, is a PG. And what bothers me about him is his handle. He sorta cradles the ball like a football for these long, jerky dribbles. It's not uh... It's not good. Needs to get it tighter to his hip / quicker / more efficient.

Here you go, many more where that came from...

Can someone explain to me why Avery Bradley is on this team?

You even wrote in the thread...

I'd like to see him traded to a lottery team for a 2nd round pick, then Keith Bogans signed. Wings on this team need to be able to shoot -- simple as that.

imagine being 21 and eating weird sandwhiches-to playing in boston garden with men-real big men, real fast guards
you got to beat them, then the guys that can jump through the roof and then you hit the 6-10 to 7footers-then you got to distribute and then play d against speedy, shifty point guards and attempt to get over hard screens by wide bodies-i think this season has been perfect for rozier and now being up in maine the pressure is off and the game has slowed down-being a rookieis is a whirlwind of change for these kids-i watch the red clawswhen tracking our rookies-best thing since AAA minor league baseball

Rozier has a  Dennis Schroeder styled game but I actually think Terry's  ceiling is rather high.  The kid is fearless. Imagine KO with his mentality. Maybe im biased because i favor the street ball styled handle he is.

Without trading one of IT or AB, Rozier will never get a chance to develop properly

you can practice all you want, it's not exactly the same as what goes on in real games

Sometimes the crowed can light a fire under your game/help you focus.

The same thing is going on with Mickey.   You have to let these guys "play" not just have them perfect the xs and os endlessly

This is true, but do consider the exceptions too (eg Reggie Jackson did find his way despite getting very few mins in OKC).

Rozier has the potential to become the only pure PG in our roster. Even as an insurance he is a valuable addition.

The question is ofc if he can become something more than an insurance and I think it is definitely too early to say. He will be given playing time when we win by a large margin or when the game will be indifferent (eg games again heavily tanking teams after the AS, break), but IMO in his case we ll need a couple of years before reaching a verdict.

Rozier is another IT part 2 but is taller and has ridiculous wingspan for his height.

He has the potential to be better than IT on both ends, if not already is a better defender just by his physical tools

Something has to give and Danny has to make a tough decision sooner than later IMO.

I really liked what I saw seeing Smart and Rozier together out there in the SL games.   Both looked very comfortable , good chemistry. Played without restrictions

Eh Rozier isn't really anything like IT. Most of his potential is on the defensive end, where he has great tools and intensity. Offensively he doesn't have any of the things that make IT so good except for the quickness. IT has a big big edge in shooting, handling, passing, decisionmaking, body control, etc. Rozier's overall talent level is nowhere near IT's - the hope is that he can become a similarly good player by being much better defensively and learning to use his tools on the offensive end too.

Disagree. Rozier can be a scoring machine and is clutch. Can get to the lane at will. Streaky shooter for now but can make 3-4 in a row.

Lets let him score a few points before we predict he can be a scoring machine.

Agreed. I like Rozier, but Triboy does exaggerate a lot.

Yeah, kinda tempers my excitement for some players. Almost ruining Mickey for me.

Roz has less game than J Young so far. Do we have to discuss further?

He's not even halfway through his rookie season. Too early to be a "bust."

I wouldnt trade Rozier for young right now. I personally think Terry could be a Eric Bledsoe style player.  If he had 20+ minutes his rookie year, im sure we would catch a "few" 20 point games. IS kemba a big facilitator? Shooter? Derrick rose couldn't shoot in the beginning either. I personally like him over RJ. so YES!!  we need to discuisss this furhter. Only thing, maybe now is the right time

he looked terrible when given minutes. More raw than J Young.

Terry who was at one point a "nobody" to the celtics blog was ddrafted over, Sam Dekker, Bobby Portis, RHJ, Larry Nance, RJ, and Mickey. EVERY OTHER guy filled a major hole even though Rozier "sorta" does as well. HE was playing in the summer league like he was a Sophmore. I KNOW ITS JUST SUMMER LEAGUE!

he hasn't even played 20 NBA minutes. I personally think Terry will COOK ELFRID PAYTON!!!!!
Stop judging him untill he  actually does something wrong
