On the off chance this rumor is true and completed, can you imagine if the Nets win the first pick in the draft and Simmons goes on to become the next great star and wins multiple titles with the Kings :P Everyone would than say how stupid Danny was for agreeing to this in the first place.

I just don't se the Kings trading Cousins unless they know for sure there is a top pick in the draft. For them to agree for the chance of this, it would need to be a much higher price. Probably all the nets picks, ours and who knows what players. If they truly want to get rid of Cousins, they should wait until after the draft order is set and than figure out who to rape over the coals. A first or a second is a must plus a lot more.

On a more serious note, Cousins would be awesome on the Celtics and would make us a much more attractive place for another huge superstar to sign with us and we would be well on our way to disrupting Lebron's dreams of a title with the Cavaliers. I would probably lean towards making this trade though since I am confident that this trade would trigger the next star to sign with us in the offseason. I just don't believe we have a chance to get him unless we have a top 2 pick in the draft.
good points. i suppose the only real space for hope would be that the sac management continues its practice of being poorly run and makes the deal.  ;D

This Twitter user is also saying that Nick Saban will coach the Colts.  Which if you follow college football like I do, you know is a total crock.

Which is a total cop out non-verifiable statement.  Dude just posts things on Twitter for attention.  As if he knows squat about the colts, who will otherwise hire Sean Payton.  And he knows that the Clemson coach will go to Alabama if Saban goes to Indy.  There's no way someone can be plugged into the Celtics, Colts, and Alabama football without being an actual pro reporter.  Ergo, this rumor is beyond false.

He says he has multiple C's contacts?  Really? How big is the C's brain trust? 15? 20? It's not that large.  And they all spill to random dude?  No.  They don't.

If the Kings were to make Cousins available, it would be well known.  They'd want multiple competing offers.

Cousins won't be traded till at least draft night. Too much risk for Kings or a trading team like C's right now. Would any one pass on Simmons and Ingram for Cousins given Cousins' Rasheed Wallace tendencies?

i doubt this rumor is true
the source doesnt seem credible enough

not to mention no other sources e.g. ESPN, bleacher report, hoopshype, celticsblog
reported a trade like this happening

also celtics were reported not to have talked about trading for cousins after they saw what the kings wanted from LA for him = julius randle + #2 pick
this was where cousins stock was still volatile

Can we for a few minutes just pretend Cousins comes to Boston, and is taken in with the play of this current Celtic team, he see's the banners hanging from the ceiling, he becomes buds with Tommy, and maybe Bill Russell...he shut's his pie-hole, and plays with the quiet intensity of Smart and Crowder.

The Celtics would "crush" two birds with one stone, they would have a real center, to protect the rim, defend, rebound, and fits the system. AND the additional scorer we desperately need. This team would go from pretender, to contender fast.

I'm not saying it will happen, it's a long shot at best, and I'm not saying I think he's even capable of being a quietly intense player, but I will not deny it's darn tempting.

If we do this fake trade, I hope we also fake include Jerebko's expiring so we can fake get back Ben McLemore.

As more time passes I begin thinking less and less of the possibility that the Kings will trade Cousins. Don't they open up their new arena next year, maybe the following year? Ranadive will likely suffer with Cousins-related antics over the next 12-24 months and throw a billion dollars at him just to fill that place. I just don't think the Kings are looking to be Orlando 2.0 with a new building just as the star bolts elsewhere via trade/FA.

If only they were coached by Scott Skiles, or still by Mike Malone for that matter, then people could actually be excited about this team's prospects heading into next offseason.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!
