Any of the circumstances could warrant being "pro-draft" but I dont see any happening. For me, I think that Ainge should dangle Thomas and AB and some of our later picks for some young players. If he finds a deal that he thinks he would "win" I do it.
Some targets could be Jabari Parker, Nerlens Noel, Dario Saric, you could even include guys like Exum, Randle, Gordon, etc.
Now Im not saying that all these trades would follow the IT and AB for x and contract filler. Some would cost more and some might cost less. The point is that I dont think Sully, ET Zeller or any of the other expirings will get us anything substantial, but if you can add another young piece without losing Smart then you can jump from 2 valuable pieces (Smart and Brooklyn '16) to 4 valuable pieces.
Lets say we call Philly and we call Milwakee and offer both a combination of IT and AB for Parker or Noel.
If either take that deal, I say you go for it, because without IT and AB we become probably the worst offensive team arguably in the league. Our pick surely drops into the lotto and probably into the top 10.
Also it allows Hunter, Young, Rozier and Smart to take much bigger roles.
But for me. Unless we can add a bigtime talent at the deadline, I dont want the team to go "pro-draft"
