Gallinari is a great offensive player, but he's making $18-million...that's too much for an injury prone, non All Star wing.
Not a big enough of an upgrade over Crowder for me when you consider Crowder's defensive impact.
Tyreke has always been intriguing, but he's almost cooked and is declining, albeit slowly-and he is probably a 4th option on a championship team at best....he just takes too many shots away from the better players on his own team. Danny loved Tyreke coming out of college and he was a potential star 3-4 years ago.
K Martin is cooked. He comes off the bench for Minny and he's been terrible the last 2 years.
Both Tyreke and K Martin are on the decline and really wouldnt move the needle for us considering how inefficient they are and how bad they are at defense (particularly Martin).
Gallo would be nice but he's not a big enough of an upgrade over Crowder. You could actually argue that if Crowder plays the entire season the way he's been playing, that he's a better player than Gallo.
We do need to make moves, but we can't hamstring ourselves and send away assets just to get guys back that won't really help us win any more games.
I think we need top 25 players or guys who have realistic potential to become top 25 players in any moves we make that give away multiple first round picks.
I think we need to combine picks and move up to get specific guys that we like in the draft like we did with Olynyk. We also have so many picks that we should gamble on serious athletes in the 2nd round.
Unfortunately, rebuilds take a loooooong time and this is only the beginning.
