Ben Simmons in CBS's System

If we (God willing) get Ben Simmons in the draft, do you guys think he could play the 5 for us in CBS small ball system/lineup? The more I think about it, the more I think that would possibly be a great fit, due to his rebounding and lack of shooting... Thoughts?

He looks like a 4 to me. I don't think he has the bulk to play 5 and it would just put him through unnecessary physical trials.

That said, he'd be the perfect 4 for Stevens and his passing ability makes him a great fit to play with someone like Marcus Smart. God, I want the #1 pick this year.

I love Ben, don't get me wrong.  I have watched every game that has been on the ESPNs and SEC channel.  He is very unique and special.  But I must admit the more I watch the more questions I have. 

He only shoots in the paint (I actually saw him take and make one near the elbow). How does this fit in CBS's system (I guess you can adapt the system).  I have read that his shot mechanics are poor, but how can anyone tell if you never see him shoot?

On defense he stays in front of his man well enough, but I rarely see him stray and help others.  In other words, he does not play with the reckless abandon of Jae, Marcus or Avery (but who does?).  He does not get a lot of fouls called on him.  To me he seems like a good but cautious defender.  For example, he rarely crashes the defensive boards.  He gets plenty of rebounds for sure.  But you rarely see him come careening in from 5 feet away (let alone 10 feet).  Its as if he decides quickly "I don't have a good chance" and doesn't risk the over the back call.  Maybe that's the sign of a good mature player, but at times I find it a little "safe".

One note that comes to mind is that he essentially plays for free at college. At that point, if he is uncontested projected number one pick, it wouldn't make sense for him to play the level of reckless defense that is of the type that Marcus plays (which leaves him oft injured). In my mind, Ben is out there playing at the level which will get him picked #1, while not risking major injury.

but one can only hope, even so Ingram would be amazing for this team. Id even be happy to get Murray or Dunn at that point as well. Maybe Brad can unlock Skal's potential.
