We all see the current trainwreck in Milwaukee, especially given the high expectations that this team had for this season. The team was obviously built without any type of shooting or spacing, but right now, the entire team is playing no defense (27th Def Efficiency) given all that highly touted length.

I fully expect them to have a wait&see approach, since all of their players are quite young. That being said, Bill Simmons proposed the idea of trading that Brooklyn pick for Jabari Parker on a recent podcast. Would Milwaukee ever do this type of deal? What if it was for Giannis instead?

They are both very high talents, but they don't seem to fit as players on the court at the same time. Neither are 3pt threats, and neither can defend/rebound well enough to play the 5. You basically have two scoring PFs that do most of their work through drives and mid-range. This is why each have been alternating bench roles. It may be a deal Milwaukee has to consider going forward.

From the Celtics perspective, I think this is an obvious yes to the deal. Short of landing the number 1 overall pick, either player would provide a wing scoring threat and some much needed athleticism. Simmons is still the best prospect, period. But if Milwaukee gets antsy  before the lottery actually happens, I say pull the trigger.

Nah, I don't see any way Milwaukee trades those guys for a lottery pick that isn't guaranteed in the least to be in the top 3.

To answer this question again even thought many threads have been brought up with the same question.

No.

Short answer NO

Looking into it further the bucks have no real incentive to make any huge changes right now. The core of their team is young and none of them are up for contract this off-season. I view their Core as Carter-Williams, Middleton, Giannis, Parker, Monroe and Henson. If at this point next season they continue to struggle then I would expect them to make a move towards a more traditional rotation.

Giannis, Middleton and Bayless to Grizz for Conley, Jeff Green and Adams might work very well if Conley resigns with Bucks. Bucks need a better PG and Middleton signing isn't working out. Giannis is nice but they have Parker already. They also create cap space so maybe they can snag a more true SG to replace what they thought Middleton would do.

This could also end up a off season S&T to guarantee Conley is signed 1st.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I think it's much more likely that we could acquire Middleton in a deal that doesn't involve the BKN pick or Smart.

While it would make a lot of sense for Milwaukee to consider moving one of Jabari or Giannis for a GREAT package, it's just not something teams do until they know for sure that said player isn't who they thought he was (thus sharply dropping his value).

My arm could be twisted into a Jabari -- Jimmy Young swap. Not sure that benefits the Cs though.

I certainly can see one of them moved. What I don't see though is the Bucks trading them for trading them sakes. Both are good for them, but as alluded, not really fitting all that well together. So sure, they could be available, but the price I'd imagine would be some kind of steep.

Yes. I think they will be available for a big offer like that. I can see that happening.

The Bucks traded Brandon Knight for the Lakers pick, which they effectively flipped to Philly for Carter-Williams. They're not trading a considerably better prospect in Jabari Parker with a much better contract situation for the Brooklyn pick alone.

Jabari for the Nets pick makes some sense for both teams, but I doubt either team would do it.
