  • GOT IT!!!
Also, we played the Warriors and the Cavs, the two best teams in the league, then we played the Pistons on a back to back with the Cavs.  The Pistons game was after only one day of rest and then this was after one day of rest.  Those are all good teams.  We're not a championship squad right now by any means, but this is a brutal part of our schedule.  The Pistons and the Hawks aren't exactly push overs.

It's not just that they're losing tho. Something is up, the rotations have to get sorted out. Ainge is going to force CBS hand IMO.

Hawks played really bad tonight even for their standards this season, and Detroit is worse in talent than these Celtics to say the least. Even though they were very lucky KCP went off

This team really looks out of sync, substitution patterns are too random, with no rhyme or reason. I don't get it.

It's almost like the players that should/could be traded are playing the most. The players that can help are sitting.

Smart can't come back fast enough. At the very least, he helps with rotations and creating more stops, along with his leadership mentality.

Gives Stevens the 12 man rotation he has been longing for.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

We're starting to look more like the team I thought we'd be during Smart's absence; he's essential.

Johnson only played 15 minutes tonight.

IT had 29, Crowder had 24, Sullinger 10, and nobody else was in double figures.

Bradley and Turner -11 and -12 respectively.

Rationally speaking I think the problem is in our bigs. Both our starting and reserves are just far too inconsistent, top to bottom.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Tonight's game illustrates why Sullinger can't be part of your long term plans.

He was our best big man tonight...10 points 8 rebounds on 60% shooting. Poor free throws with 2/6 but you're targeting him too much in this thread and it's really not fair.
Sullinger is the least of our problems.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

We just don't have very good players. All bench caliber role players. IT, Sully, Bradley, Amir, Crowder. A starting line up of role players.

Brad Stevens on loss: "Our collective spirit waned. We have some work to do."

Perhaps it's because our collective spirit doesn't know who is going to get playing time or what rotation they'll see from night to night...

Not sure what inspired that conclusion. Beside his FT shooting woes, he was as rock solid as he's been all year.

Amir Johnson looks like he is Noel with a jumper some nights. Other nights he looks like a poor man's Jordan Mickey
