Looking at Ainge's penchant for value contracts and not spending large capspace on 'great but not All Star great' caliber guys (like Gallo and Batum) it's hard to see him adding Gallo and especially Batum.

Adding Gallo adds some scoring but also means Crowder plays significantly less minutes and his defensive impact is lost.

Gallo doesn't play the 4 either.

To me he's much more likely to go after Harrison Barnes and get him an extra 7 or 8 shots a game than he gets at GSW.

CBS will need to play Gallo, Crowder offense to defense game to perfection. But also they can both be on the court too, depending on the matchup/situation

Ainge was asked about DeMarcus Cousins and while he refused to talk about him by name, he downplayed any interest in a guy that could be disruptive.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to have players that are disruptive to your team, on the court and off the court.

At top of Danny Ainge's holiday shopping list? A go-to scorer.

"I think the one thing that we could really use is a go-to scorer," said Ainge. "We have some guys that have carried us -- Kelly [Olynyk has] carried us, Avery [Bradley has] carried us, Isaiah [Thomas has] carried us, [Jared Sullinger has] carried us at moments during the season, Evan Turner has carried us -- but it would be nice to find another player that’s a reliable scorer at the end of games, night in and night out."

I think you're kidding yourself if you think Danny won't be on the phone with Divac if Cousins is made available. Talent is talent, and it is one thing we need more of.

Why would DA fib about his interest in DC???? Oh why???  Duh, to lower the price tag.  Probably the #1 rule of negotiations.  If Cousins is available at a price DA likes, these comments will mean absolutely nothing.
Yeah because you want to let the player know 3 months ahead of time that you think he's a dirt bag just because...

Cousins is not coming here friends

Kings are not going to Danny and asking him, if he was joking about what he said about Cousins (or passively said)

Danny is not going to the Kings and saying, "hey I was bluffing about not wanting the Crybaby".  Or "Hey , Cousins is a moody player but I will give you peanuts for him"

Why not let this party become wild and trade for both Cousins and Rondo.  They are taking their Kings to the basement. Lets just have them do that to our team

It would be fun to watch Cousins adjusting to playing the Brad Stevens 25 minute big man carousel rotation.

You really believe trader Danny when he talks about trades to the media?

this.

Danny always comes out and says nothings happening, and how he wishes he had this or that. and then a day, a week, a month, or a season later he goes out and trades for it to prove himself a liar.  I'd be surprised if he was out on Cousins.  All this statement means to me is that Vlade has still said Cousins isn't available for trade, and Danny wanted to go public saying he isn't interested in order to eliminate any leverage the Kings could hold over him.  I buy the part about him wanting a scorer though.  it's brutal not having that guy you know is taking the shot at the end of the game.  or at least the one that can drive to the hoop as IT2 refused to do at the end of the GS game.

i still hope we do something that involves us keeping our Brooklyn pick this year and acquiring Tyreke Evans from New Orleans.  seems like a perfect fit to me

..........says the man that traded Kendrick Perkins..out of the blue.

No one saw that coming, either.

These feints..word plays, indirect references, are the works of a Master GM.

Just ask Billy K.

I simply trust that Danny Ainge is going to provide CBS with the best talent available and use our plethora of assets to build this team going forward.

As a man with perhaps the BEST hand to play in the NBA right now - why in the world would he show his hand?

Of course he doesn't want Cousins....I don't like Ice cream and cake either, LOL.

I'm with you, chambers. Genuinely wonder two things: 1) Is it possible to pry him away, and 2) How likely is it that he elevates his game with more touches and greater freedom?

Crowder and multiple draft picks would be the start of the package and prob no move is made til summer.

If we had a big that was head and shoulders above the rest (like Cousins), he would play a lot more minutes

You're right, he's not, but it's not because Danny doesn't want him.  It's because the Kings, while a poorly run team, aren't THAT poorly run

So Danny trashes the guy in the media in the hope that other GM's will listen and offer less, so that in turn he can offer only slightly more than the other offers? Nurp.
