I still can't buy that the Kings will even consider trading Cousins before they move into that new arena.  You don't want to open a new arena with a team that's been gutted of its most galvanizing players.

This rumor has all the hallmarks of having come from Sacro, fishing for any better offers that other teams might make.

LOL at the Bulls being "interested". Like they have something to offer that Sacramento would want compared to Boston and Miami. They do have Sacramento's top-10 protected pick but if the Kings are rebuilding it won't matter anyway.

Miami's alleged offer of Whiteside, Winslow and filler is reasonably attractive, so we need to make a strong offer that starts with Brooklyn 2016 and 2017, expiring Lee contract, plus two of Young, Rozier, and Hunter.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=jxgnwbw

I'll offer:

Amir's special contract, Marcus Smart, Sullinger, James Young, Brooklyn unprotected 2016 1st, Dallas 1st, a couple 2nd rounders.
The Miami offer is not that good considering Whiteside is an unrestricted free agent.  If Cousins came on the market, I'd think the Lakers would be stupid not to go after him.  So I'm not sure your offer would beat a Lakers offer centered around Russell and Randle.

As the great John McEnroe always said, "You can't be serious!!!!"  Russell is utter CRAP.  He is NOT an athlete and has a marginal NBA handle!!!!  Sully has a 17.4 PER and Olynyk has a 17.4 and Randle has a 15.

Seriously, you HAVE to be a diehard Lakers' fan!!!!

Hey there is no reason to be insulting.  Calling someone a Laker's fan ought to be at the top of the naughty list.  I see a big heaping of coal in your stocking.

Sully is an RFA that the Kings would probably have to pay nearly as much as Cousins is making to retain.  I don't think Sully/WCS would be a good combo.  Olynyk wasn't mentioned as part of the trade but I'd think the Kings would prefer him to Sully.  Young obviously hasn't done or proven anything yet.  In an offseason where most teams will have cap space, I don't think Amir's contract is worth much.  So I think it mostly comes down to what the Kings think of Smart/Brooklyn 1st versus Randle/Russell.   Smart has shown his defensive chops but not much else.  So far I don't think this draft is that good so the Brooklyn pick being 3rd versus 7th would be significant to me.   I'm not sold on Russell and Randall but I'm not going to dismiss them after 20 games either.

I agree with your assessment of the lack of value of the Sac pick that Chi holds for exactly the reason you say. 100%....TP

I do however think that the Bulls have a lot to offer for Cousins if Sac wants to reset. Mirotic, Portis, Snell and and McDermott plus Chi's 2016 1st and Portlands 2016 second is substantial.

A win now for the Bulls and reset for the Kings might look like:

To Sac: Mirotic, Portis, Snell, McDermott, Chi's 1st, Portlands second and Noah (expiring)

To Chi: Cousins and either Gay or Rondo

I think we and other teams could easily beat that offer for Cousins.  The Bulls would probably be better off if the Knicks decided to move Melo.  He's got a no trade clause and Chicago would probably be one of the few places that he would accept.  They should be able to get him quite a bit cheaper than Cousins.

None of those guys listed have shown that they have a higher ceiling than role player in this league. That won't get them Cousins, especially not Cousins + Gay. Sacramento will want high lottery picks/young value that will allow them to rebuild quicker. I think Sully/Lee/Hunter/2016 Nets and Mavericks picks is a better offer for DMC.

However, I think the Kings are going to wait this out until February before they decide to reset their team.

I'm sure it's nothing, but we're apparently showing interest in Boogie again. It's a bit of a 'nothing' story, but we can dream at least.

By dream you mean nightmare right?

Nope, acquiring a 25 year-old who is one of the ten best players in the league sounds more like a dream than a nightmare to me.

I personally think Sacramento would have to be crazy to do that (so there's probably a strong chance they would :)). I think the teams that could put up a comparable package to us would be LAL, Orlando, Phoenix, and Philly. However, I think that only Philly could theoretically outbid us. If Danny really is committed to getting Cousins, who's really going to top 3 BKN Picks, Smart, and whatever else we'd include in a godfather package?

I want him here desperately, but I don't think that DMC is getting traded.

This is the 3rd consecutive really bad season for the Lakers.  Rebuilding around Russell and Randle is far from a sure thing and it will definitely take time.  Are the Lakers willing to wait that long?   Cousins is an awfully good building block on a good contract.  I expect they'll have more success in free agency without the Kobe baggage.

Russell is 75th out of 82 PG's in real plus/minus and 68th out of 82 in defensive real plus/minus.  That is CRAP to me.
