I still can't buy that the Kings will even consider trading Cousins before they move into that new arena.  You don't want to open a new arena with a team that's been gutted of its most galvanizing players.

I agree. Also, ownership/Divac have never wavered in their support of Cousins. Given that alone, I'm surprised so many folks see this as more than a pipe dream.

This is neither here nor there, but if we ever do manage to land Cousins, I hope we can steal Ben McLemore from them as well.  I feel like that kid is super under-utilized.   He's only 22 years old and shooting 45%/41%/82%.   I still like him.

Me too. And if we have to give up AB to get Cuz, then McLemore projects well as a suitable replacement eventually.

He's a huge step down from AB, who is better offensively and on another planet defensively. SAC has a huge hole SG, McLemore's been given plenty of opportunity to fill it, but he has failed and now gets less minutes than Bellinelli who is a backup.
Bradley deserves tons of credit... but he's playing on a team that doesn't have a first option.  He might be our first option by default this season.... well Thomas is, but still.  Bradley is getting lots of opportunities.  But he doesn't really create for himself.  He comes off screens and hits open shots.

I like McLemore's potential.  He's taking half the shot attempts as Bradley this year.  He's 3 years younger.  He has legit size for the SG spot.   He shoots very efficiently.  Can he come off screens and hit shots?  Probably.  He's a downgrade from Bradley defensive (when you forget about the size difference)... but he can improve with time.   I agree... if Bradley ended up part of our Cousins trade package, I'd hope we could get McLemore out of it.   Classic buy-low candidate right there.  Would love to see what he could with Brad Stevens guiding him.   He wouldn't be the first player to play better after getting away from Rudy Gay.

Cousins is like a woman in a bad marriage that is scard to leave.

The owner keeps telling him everything is fine

Yet the organization still sucks and Cousins stays married..... LOL

He 'll be like KG and wake up one day and it's almost too late.......

Dumb dumb dumb

Why, because hanging on to a knucklehead with no leadership skills is not important? Bottom line is he's not bringing home the bacon.

With that perspective, you're inadvertently grouping Anthony Davis with Cousins. Although Davis may not be perceived as a knucklehead, he's also not winning.

Which side of the argument are you on? Do you want to see Cousins in Boston?

I don't like comparing AB and McLemore, in general, because they seem to be a million miles apart right now.  I agree with the general sentiment, though, that if McLemore is going to thrive, his best chance is in a highly structured and demanding environment like the one Brad has created. For someone with a questionable approach to the game mentally, I can't imagine a setting that would be more optimal for his growth.

Miami's alleged offer of Whiteside, Winslow and filler is reasonably attractive, so we need to make a strong offer that starts with Brooklyn 2016 and 2017, expiring Lee contract, plus two of Young, Rozier, and Hunter.

I'll offer:

Amir's special contract, Marcus Smart, Sullinger, James Young, Brooklyn unprotected 2016 1st, Dallas 1st, a couple 2nd rounders.

I've agreed with you on like three posts in the last week. Scary stuff.

But, yeah, I still like Ben, and it's not just due to being somewhat of a hometown boy either. He's got good size and athleticism for the two, and I think he can easily be a Danny Green type player, if not better.

I don't think the Whiteside part is that great because there is great risk in losing him in free agency. The Kings would have no Bird Rights and who knows if Whiteside would even wants to re-sign with a team that gave up on him, albeit under a different regime.

If that's what it takes to make the deal then I would reluctantly do it, but I prefer to keep Smart, Johnson and Sullinger and go compete for the Eastern Conference Title.

Some sort of deal centered around Smart and this year's Brooklyn 2016 looks crazy attractive from Sacramento's perspective. I don't think they're getting a better deal from anyone else who might be plausibly interested.

A few months ago I would have been very reluctant to trade away Smart, but the rest of the backcourt has become good enough that I think we could still have a great team without him.

Really don't want to deal away Smart.

I think he could be the perfect player to put next to Cousins. If it meant we would have to shell out a few extra draft picks, I'm all for it.

I actually think if we bring in DMC, IT should be on the trade block. While IT/Cousins can co-exist on the floor, I just don't see considering their high level usage rate, and the fact Cousins isn't the type of center to run on the fast break consistently.

I just really don't buy that W&W put us over the top. And I don't care to pay Whiteside this summer. Just my two cents.

I'm not sure if it's clear that the W and W offer is for Cousins not for the Celtics package.
