3 more centers, of course. Bender looks terrible imo. Qi is somewhat decent on offense, but the defense is literally non existent. Brown is tenfold the player bender is.

Bender looks terrible? Please elaborate.

Bender isnt' really a 5. He's more of a 4/3 hybrid with the size of a 5.
essentially residual lag from the Porzingis hype. In 18 games played: 3.4 ppg, 1.9 rpg, .8 apg, 13.8 PER. A NBA prospect, no matter what league the player is in, should have average stats tenfold the ones he tallied up. What this reminds me of is Hezonja of last years draft, he had stats similar to Benders, and he just about is duplicating Benders current stats in the NBA. If the nets pick lands in the 5-6 range, there are multiple other players worth considering, Simmons, Skal, Ingram, Brown, Murray, and Dunn are all players worth considering over Bender.

Bender has been highly ranked BEFORE the Porzingis hype train. You mentioned Henzonja, but he too is an amazing talent. In the draft it's all about ceiling and few in this one have the ceiling he has when you factor his size, skill, mobility, and age.

I would take Bender but not expecting the Porzingis immediate impact.  Will take time...probably a lot of time...years...patience.

Out side of winning the lottery I would be thrilled with either Ingram or Bender. Skal I like his game but worry about his ability to gain strength and his questionable handlers. (articles are out there about how he came from Haiti).

If the Cs land Bender #4 I think this would be a great pick. He is very young and needs to get a lot stronger but he has great height and length at the 4/5 and appears to have a very good feel for the game and IQ. It also helps that his skill set seems perfect for the way the NBA has turned. If he reaches his potential we could be looking at an excellent passing stretch 4/5. The Cs current roster construction will allow him time to develop and not have to be thrust right into the starting lineup.

I also like the Bryant pick. Having watched a few of his games he seems to be suffering from a PG who doesn't like to dump the ball into the post. He looks like a natural 4 who has some nice face up ability but also has the length to play the 5.

The big man from China I know 0 about
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Still hoping the Brooklyn pick jumps to #1 over Philly and LA.  Still torn as to which I'd hate more -- Philly getting the LA pick at say #4 or LA getting a top 3 pick.

I still think the Dallas and C's picks will end up at the tail end of the lottery by season's end.  Also think Minny will be on the borderline of transfering their 1st to us as well.

With all the second rounders we have, I'm curious if there's some real value that deep in this draft.

I'd be thrilled if we got Bender. He looks like a quicker Mark Gasol. And I think he could impact right away with already a pro experience.

Jaylen Brown, Ingram and Murray could be good also, but as of now I'm in on Bender.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
It's pretty exciting that if the draft were tomorrow and Simmons was gone, we'd be picking one of:

Ingram
Brown
Bender
Labisierre

If we bink our 1/10 shot at Simmons it would be up there with the 2007 draft and the subsequent events that followed.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I am also keeping an eye on the Minny pick...that one has the most volatility...a 2016 #13 pick vs a 2016 second rounder and a 2017 2nd rounder...big swing there.

The #13 that can really sweeten a trade for an established star...if the Celtics go that route.

Brooklyn's and Dallas' picks are for sure coming (unless Dallas falls off a cliff)...so I am keeping an eye on them but not as closely.
