Not a shocker. 

He was brought here to play significant minutes, was handed a starting role from the beginning, and couldn't keep it. 

Now the veteran who worked out a trade from his former team due to lack of minutes, hoping for a chance to rebuild his value before he hits free agency, is starting to lose his patience with the young rebuilding team that doesn't want to play him much, either.

Not that surprised. He's had games where I thought he deserved the minutes and didn't get them. He's also had games where he deserved to ride the pine. He's just not consistent enough at this point to be getting 20-25 mins every single game and even though you could argue he deserves them over KO who has been even less consistent KO can hit 3s and spread the floor. Lee can't

I think so too Who.  It's not like you'll get anything of value in a trade.  Too bad for ownership, they're eating like an extra five million or so to go forth with this experiment.  That's one move that left me just scratching my head.  I mean is taking a flyer to see if David Lee can at least revert back to 2013ish really worth the extra five million, especially when he was at best a short term cog?  I never understood that move.  Wallace should've just been bought out by this team in August and be done with it.

In terms of the "you need his salary for a possible trade" - Celtics have plenty of expiring money on the roster (Amir + Jerebko with non-guarantees next year.)  Just isn't worth keeping him around.  He came here to play 25-30 minutes to make one last final run at the last decent sized contract of his career, and there's no chance he'll have that opportunity here so it's really a lose-lose proposition to have him here.

Problem for Lee is that at this stage of his career, he's most similar to a guy like Luis Scola, only he has no range outside of 5 feet, whereas Scola can space the floor reasonably well.  This means Lee will have a very hard time finding minutes on a decent team that values spacing and / or defense at the center position.

That is NOT complaining. All he is saying is that he will continue to put in full effort to be worthy of more minutes. Did you people actually read the full quote?

There is nothing wrong with what he said. Stevens would be happy with what he said. He wants all the player to have drive and to desire to do more for the team. Do you want him to just cash his check and be happy with a diminished role? Has he at any point shown that he is giving less effort or is being hard to coach?

It is trouble.  It puts pressure on a coach that already has to do a tough juggling act on a nightly basis.

He has done little to prove he deserves the min he wants. Like against the kings he scored 2 pts in 15 min.   He has been up and down all year long.

Danny should try his best to trade him. If not waive.
