thank for the obs, hopefully he gets some minutes going forward.  We need another good shooter.
we do need another good shooter, but if RJ has shown anything this year and last(when he was in college) it's that he isn't a good shooter. He has range and nice form but 37% FG%, 27% 3PT% and 47% TS% means he is not a good shooter. He had similar problems in college
Riiiiiiiight but Rozier according to you was a much better shooter because you saw him make a few shots during preseason. What's he shooting again?

Maybe we should slow down on these predictions until these guys play more.
What exactly does Rozier's shooting have to do with RJ's. I can't even remember saying anything about Rozier being a better shooter than Hunter but if I did I was wrong, thus far. But I am right about Hunter and this isn't some small sample size we are talking about. 1/4 of the season gone, his pre-season, his Summer League and his final year in college he has produced similar bad shooting numbers. As I said, nice range, nice form. Bad shooter. It happens.
He's a rookie. Impossible to tell. And you have posted several times regarding how Rozier was a much better shooter than RJ.

Also the point of adding this was to show that you are just guessing. No idea.
He is a bad shooter. Rather than question the messenger you should take a look at the message. The numbers don't lie.

If he is such a good shooter, show us why.
He shot 37 percent as a freshman from three and than 40 percent from three as a sophomore. He then had 2-3 guys covering him as a Junior. Not sure if you watched any of the games, but it sounds like you didn't. He was forced into a lot of tough shots.
Nope, didn't see him in college but once his last year, but then again, I am not sure what that has to do with his shooting stroke. Of course, I am not a regular watcher of Georgia State basketball, like you are so thanks for the info. You must get really excited for those Georgia State/Appalachian State games?

So double and triple teams were the reason for his bad shooting his last year?! Right! Forgive me if I don't believe you. I guess that must be the problem so far in his pro career too. He is just such a good shooter that teams are double and triple teaming him, hence bad numbers.

Why is it so hard to admit that it looks like he isn't a good shooter?
I watch a lot of games. I probably saw 2.5-3 of his games. But thanks for at least letting us know you are strictly using stats.

Also, not many rookies are going to shoot well in limited minutes. That's more common than unusual.

Speaking of RJ, Rotoworld report minutes ago say he suffered injury during practice and limped off court in pain.  Not good.

Let's hope it's just a sprain.

If it is, you've got to ask yourself "When will these rookies learn that they have to tape."

Smart learned that the hard way last year.

I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

Agree. No need to make such snide comments.

Also I don't get where its been indicative that Hunter has been a bad shooter? If anything coming out of the draft was the possibility that he could've been a lottery pick, just based on his shooting alone.

RJ Hunter has some good shooting form, but I agree with some users who have said he has a low release point, so I'm afraid really good defenders will take advantage of that.

Also tough for a rookie adjusting to the NBA, to consistently knock down 3's without the minutes, nor the rhythm in place to get into a groove. I'll give Hunter 2-3 years before I believe he's a bad shooter.

Is it so hard to accept that shooting is a skill that develops  (jkidd the prime example...)

His college numbers are solid, and his stroke looks a lot like steph's. I think 35% is his floor. (P.s watch rj play d... he looks like a vet.

we do not see rj shooting in practice,a young rookie shooter has alot going on
-you can see the concentration in the last game by rj on defensive end
rj has to be thinking constantly on defence because of his weight, nba screens, speed and ability of opponents
,his defence against kings was very very good,he rebounds and blocks out
he has not been embarrased or abused and has often been disruptive  with active hands and reach on help defence
he has penetrated and used his runner, has been intregal part of flow on offence, shown very good passing skills
he has rushed some shots from three but he comes off bench cold or sometimes just mopups but he has earned brads trust -minutes in 4th quarter against the spurs-the kid is a darn good rookie
the one thing i worry about is attempting to play hurt,he needs to be 100% as a rookie with his frame-anything that slows him down could be crucial on defence

forgot played zone in college, has to learn defencive sets ,learn players offence and defence, adjust to travel, play against bigs unlike any college experience, players with blinding speed and verticals like superman-and big time pressure

if all you wanted was a three point shooter,we should have kept gigi as a specialist
both rj and mickey need gym time and reps
i like the usage of rj with the vets
,garbage time helps nobody as there is no cohesiveness or patience on offence or defence  with the clock winding down
mickey should get his reps work on his shooting and jack them up in games for red claws and hit the gym
i think he looks bigger allready
after christmas for mickey
anybody that thinks there is not improvement in shooters just has to look at avery and also at young who can't play d yet and it gets in his head during nba time
hunter has to improve shot selection and continue his heady play till its all natural
also the refs make a difference and call some mickey mouse fouls on him-a little grabbing or shove here and there because he has too -
he will get his timing down and know who calls what how and what he can get away with-

also its how and where you get the ball and time on clock ,there are times he has good looks but evan doesn't get him the ball, jerebko does-

anybody seen how this kid shoots in practice and who he compares too

Lol even Rondo can shoot a few jumpers now and then ...LOL

Hunter is gaining confidence all the time.  He is mainly learning the speed and how to get his shots .

He is a smooth operator .

I think he can be as good as Jamal Crawford one day.  But with more overall game.

The thing about Hunter .....the coaches son IQ .....instincts .....and crazy enthusiasm for the game and team.......HE LOVeS basketball ...it shows.

Love to trade some players and watch RJ (I've like Rozier so far too), but when we're healthy (knock on wood), there's no reason for them to be getting minutes.

I miss Smart with all my heart right now.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

rozier has a lot to learn from isiah and bradley-the nuances and change of pace the ability to read the floor and know where your guys will be and how they want the ball, the defence is going to channel him into bigs
stop and start isn't enough-i would rather rj played point and they tried that once and rj said not again

Wonder if Young gets a look if RJ is out.
looks like he was the next man up.

Young played better than I thought he would.
