We need a starting small forward who can score in bunches and down the stretch without giving away too much on the defensive end.  I like Jae Crowder a lot, but see him as the backup SF/PF, a specialist who can guard the best wing/forward on the other team.
Good thing this draft has plenty of small forwards. Last draft had the centers and this one has the 3's. Too bad we missed out on last years draft.

We didn't miss out on the draft, Ainge passed up a few bigs, most notably Portis.  Turner would have been worth trading up for too, imho.
Ya we missd out and big time too. But its on Ainge. CBS is way too good of a coach to give all that veteran talent.
We went into that season needing a Center and that was suppose to be the draft to fix it. Instead we passed on Towns, Okafor, KP, and then later on Turner......so we could get swept

Could you imagine what CBS could do with a shotblocking big that can shoot the 3 and hit his FT's? Maybe Indy would do a trade for Turner but it would cost us IT and maybe more. I'd do that though......but we could have just drafted him had we lost 3 more games.

How exactly did Danny pass on Towns and Okafor, short of a full tank (that still would not have guaranteed them?)

Probably by not pulling a Hinke and sacrificing a whole team for essentially one player.

This is a bizarre post.

The alternative to making the playoffs is not a top 2 pick. There are 14 possible pick positions we could have had, with a far less than 50% chance of being top 2. Heck, the team with the worst record in the league already has a less than 50% chance of drafting top 2!

Sully still seems like the most likely to go.  He's the one getting the minutes so he's likely the most valuable piece.   Kelly, Lee and Sully all might be equal players, but at this moment there's no way Kelly or Lee have comparable trade value to Sully... so I'd guess Sully is the one we'd be able to fetch something for.
