I think he's just another Sheed / Z-Bo type guy who will go to a better run team with real leadership already in place and he'll look like a model citizen.  Still a young guy, he's emotional, hates losing.  I think he'll grow up and become a major contributor to a very good team some day.

I agree that he shouldn't be expected to be the unquestioned leader of a team, though.

Perfect. Let Smart be our vocal leader. Always said Smart and Cousins would be the perfect duo. They would fit in so well.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
I'm not going to base my opinions on Cousins after his actions in one game in Mexico City... If this guy is available, you do what you can to get him. Period.

I think the sample size is much larger than one game.

Does any player complain more to the refs than Cousins?
His attitude just sucks so bad. Such a whiney **** bag.

OP is right, he's a freakin dog.
I do not want this guy on our team or in our locker room. Some people never change and he's one of those spoiled athletes who thinks he's god's gift to the game.
His behavior is summed up in one word: immature
I would rather have D Jordan than him. Drummond should be offered a Max by us because he is better and we can. DMC is a cancer. Hopefully Vlady see it and fixes it.

I think people are underestimating Brad Stevens and the Celtics organization--and also how AWFUL the Kings organization is---I bet Stevens could run plays for him, that use his strengths---The Kings have NO plan or plays for him--except just put him out there and see what happens.....Cousins would be ecstatic to get OUT of Sacramento.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Yep. I've seen enough of his other games to know what a dominant force he is. Boogie's a top 10 player in the league, he's a cornerstone.

Yeah. Have you ever watched Lebron James?

Because those two statements above describe him to a T.

I literally was just about to write this.

Thank you for doing the service for me.

TP.

I don't get why people are hating on DMC so much...

People vied for Melo, but he isn't a vocal leader...

Cousins is the type of passionate player that would do his best on a team with hustle guys. Crowder/Smart would be like the best ideal teammates for DMC.

DMC is a player who feeds off of other players emotions, and whats wrong about that? DMC is still the best center in the game, and I think he should back at the 5. Screw the 4.... You're refusing to allow one of the best rebounders, and best low post scorers in the league stay at the 4? Doesn't make any sense. I know CBS would utilize him to his fullest extent. His ability to step out to the range, pump fake, and his ability to surprise defenders by running on the fast break with underrated handles is what's going to garner praise by Boston fans.

Also Cousins HAS ALWAYS been like this...

You guys cry about every players flaws... I'm sorry, but every player is DIFFERENT! That is why they are called players, because they PLAY the game how they want to.

You don't like Harden, because he doesn't play defense, and complains to the ref.

You don't like Melo, because he doesn't play defense, and takes tough contested shots.

You don't like Lebron, because he complains to the ref, and takes some plays off.

You don't like Chris Paul, because he flops on purpose, and complains to the ref.

You don't like Westbrook, because he has a terrible attitude, and complains to the ref.

I mean jeez louise... These are all top 20 players, and yet you guys don't like these players, but how quick you would change your tune if they were all on the Celtics..

Its easy to judge a player, but when DMC has been on a losing team for his entire career, its tough to be happy about the situation. Yes, they upgraded the roster, but you can't win a championship without a good coach. Is Karl a good coach? Yes. Championship? No.

Arguably, I would say CBS is leaps and bounds ahead of him. Not as impressive resume, but hes always got more out of his teams than Karl has the past 3 years.

And for this post I return the TP sir. Well said.

While there are definitely people who dislike each of those players, I think you'd have a hard time finding posters who don't like any of them.  You may be making the common mistake of treating the site like it's just a couple of people posting under hundreds of different names.

Cousins has had anger issues. He is a time bomb waiting to go off. Yes if he was a Celtic we all would like him more. Yes Coach could make him look better. He is No KG who played on a losing team and was winner here in my opinion. I personally saw him give up in the kentucky game they lost. He will not be your no. 1 player that wins you a championship.

I told myself to start a thread on this subject *before* last night's game, i.e., no matter if Cousins had a good or bad game, one game means nothing.  You've got to consider his body o work (which has been tremendous).  It seems that many, many Celtics fans base their opinion of Cousins on the games he plays against the Celtics, and ignore all other evidence.

Roy do you trade the Nets pick for Cousins if it lands in the top 3?

I go back and forth on Cousins.  He's clearly an exceptional talent, but I do also find his childish antics on the court upsetting.  I know that people say he behaves that way because he's a competitor and hates to lose; that's fine.  I even buy that argument.  But it's hard to say that his emotional instability doesn't hurt him on the court.  I know he puts up fantastic numbers, but, still, it doesn't seem conducive to being the kind of leader that someone with his talent level needs to eventually become if he's going to maximize his potential.

Also, last night was clearly Boogie's worst night of the season.  A lot of credit for that performance by Cuz--and the Kings, in general--is going to Mexico City.  I think I'd be nice if we gave our Celtics a bit of that credit, too.  We jumped all over them, played our tough brand of D, and demoralized them early.

I am a homer who has rarely seen Cousins except for his recent failures against Boston. If we have his number for some reason, then I'm sure we'd be the best team to maximize his talents.

There is a risk to anything Danny does if he goes for fireworks.

If it only costs the Brooklyn pick and someone like Sully, you have to take the chance he will excel in a good environment. That trade for all its risks would probably make us a top five team in the NBA and a true threat to Cleveland. In my opinion. It might finally force David Lee to the bench who I've seen enough of!

Surprised there isn't a thread on this already after last nights game . He literally complains after every play , gives  dirty look to the ref and then casually mopes back to the defensive end often times letting his man beat him down the court.

It's just mind boggling how people think he would be a franchise player . He has no leadership aspects to his game . When he gets it going on offense it is a 1 man show . I don't see him making teammates better .

No way in hell am I trading the nets pick this year for him, forget about multiple nets .

Nice to see other people can see the truth, TP!
