I understand what you mean, but those players are considerably better than their counterparts. Both McRoberts and Olynyk are role players.

Thanks ..TP

That was weird .....watching Kelly doing all that BASKETBALL stuff  ;D

He can play by golly.

Not sure the Kings realized a NBA game was being played ?   Kinda pathetic defense....LOL

You haven't watched very many Celtics games over the course of the last two and a quarter seasons, have you?

Olynyk played 25 mins in the Sac game and 27 minutes tonight.  He should be playing around that many minutes every night and we will see better play from him and a big impact I think.  We are playing him half that much many nights.  He doesn't get into a rhythm and he deserves and needs more time.

Lee being out may give him enough time to prove that idea right or not.

Exactly why I didn't really want Lee anyway. I mean if Lee came in and was putting up all-star numbers, then fine, but he isn't really doing anything special and Kelly/Zeller/Mickey are the ones being 'punished' for it. It's not the Lee is a bad guy or a bad player, but he is an older expiring vet with okay skills - seems easily replaceable with what we already have in the younger guys.

Lee has no future with the team. Danny brought him in, hoping he would play out of this world. Better than Wallace

But mainly lee has done is slow down KO , Zeller progress

If Danny can't trade Lee, I hope he gets bought out.

I hope we can find a trading partner for him sooner rather than later. As long as he is dressed I think Stevens will give him minutes.

Nice game again for Olynyk, though again the D was pretty atrocious.  But I'd love it if this gave him some momentum for some of the tougher opponents coming up.  With Lee out he has a big opportunity to cement his spot.

What is your definition of atrocious defense from a big man?

You think Drummond is a top notch defender?

In traditional sense, big guys that rebound and protect the rim are considered good defenders.  KO while is not a plus in either of these areas , is a pretty good team defender.   He is good at clogging the lane/take charges , jumping out at jump shooters and stealing the ball

I thought his defense is pretty good for what they're asking him to do. They pretty much have him playing free safety on top of the key, and making sure he closes to the strong side while not straying too far away from his man.

I actually see a huge improvement, since all I remember from last season is him being a step too slow or not knowing where to help.

Of course, if you expect Olynyk to bang with folks the size of Ajinca, or provide spectacular weakside blocks, it's not going to happen. But I'm happy to report it's time for me to eat crow on his defense (and Bradley's offense, too :P).

Sorry, I was unclear - the atrocious D I was referring to was New Orleans' - Kelly got open looks and easy lanes to the basket repeatedly.  Kelly's been a plus defender all season and has greatly improved though he's usually guarding backups and his physical limitations keep a ceiling on his effectiveness.  No complaints about his D, just talking about how the Pelicans' (and Kings') poor defense contributed to his good offensive play.

Kelly's box score largely depends on how the refs make calls on him.  Games in which he gets in early foul trouble (often) he disappears. When given a chance to play aggressively, like the other players, he stands out.  I hope the team office continues to send complaints to the league office. I do feel he is unfairly targeted by the refs for this.  Some of the calls are warranted. A lot are not.  We had this problem with Perk and Jefferson the first couple of years of their careers, but starting year 3 the refs backed off. Wish they'd do the same with KO.
