Not sold on PG
Yes i think he is a all-star level player but don't seem to be a superstar
He never can lead his team to pass LBJ, and he can't even owe the old PP
if you are going to clean the farm you should go after KD/Davis/DMC level player

To be fair, a lot of teams couldn't pass LBJ. Dude's been in the Finals for how many years now? Meanwhile, DMC can't even get in the playoffs.
LBJ beat the Pacer 2 or 3 time in the playoff?
consider both team's members, if PG is a top-5 superstar player i will expect they at least win once

considering the Heat team vs the Pacers team? Well, Wade and Bosh are multiple all-stars and are still killing it. Meanwhile, Lance Stephenson and Roy Hibbert are battling for minutes with their new teams.

Penalizing PG for not making it past that vaunted Heat team is like saying you would've passed on KG because he couldn't get out of the West when he was in Minny. I mean, he should've at least beat Duncan's Spurs or Shaq/Kobe's Lakers at least once, right? ::)

I have no opinion on PG one way or the other. But I do agree with your line of thinking. Somehow this idea gets floated around that if you can't be the undisputed best team then it's not worth even trying. LBJ is going to be very hard to beat no matter where he is or whom he plays with. That is no reason to not try and get better when you can.
