unfortunately the c's were on a mental vacation today, i hope there are consequences in the locker room.
Brad S, holding someone accountable? When has that happened before?

Who exactly should be held accountable and for what?
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

There's a reason why the Nets are a 2-win team.

Their bench features one, maybe two guys who belong in an NBA rotation, that's why.
*3 win

Giving up 111 points to Brooklyn is completely inexcusable.  Losses don't get more shameful than this

We had Isaiah Thomas covering Jarrett Jack and Jared Sullinger covering Brook Lopez.

It's not that surprising.

It worked on Friday.

On Friday the Celts made them play their game -- forced lots of turnovers, ran em off the court.

Get into a halfcourt battle with the Nets and the Celts will lose.  They are not equipped to win that way.

Is any team really equipped to combat their opponent when the opponent is shooting lights out in the first half? The Nets were just hitting their shots today and the Celtics had no energy, and when the Celtics got it together, they almost came back and won.

You also have to factor in Smart was not playing. Believe it or not, that impacts the defense. A lot.

Jarrett Jack showing us all why Isaiah's future in this league is as a sixth man.

This is a stat that indicates what a player normally shoots vs. what they shoot against Thomas.

Thomas' defense has been above average this season, even better than Avery Bradley's.

Whatever. Brooklyn hit their shots today. Today only shows the blind squirrel finds an acorn. Brooklyn still does not impress me. If they really were that good, they wouldn't have let the Celtics back in the game. Let them have this. If anything this will kick the Celtics to get their asses in gear. The refs weren't to blame for this one. This one was just on the Celtics trying to be too pretty and not putting any effort in the first half. Does anyone else still doubt the impact Marcus Smart has on the game?

However, that call on Crowder had to be the worst call I've ever seen. That ref should be fired.

Missing his defense hurts, but I'd hope that other guys would step up in his absence—for example, Crowder, the league steals leader, had 0.

On offense, though, the way Smart's been shooting, his absence may have been a good thing.

A bunch of people, for trying to end the game with a bunch of horrible shots. And that's before we start talking about the defense.

On the other hand, maybe there isn't really anyone to hold accountable, because that seems to be Brad S's idea for running an offense: launch a bunch of jumpers and hope that some will stick.

Uh huh. I'm guessing we should just ignore the fact that he's easy picking from 15 ft in (+12 FG differential).

you can't go from 19pts and clamping your man to a no-show and say it's smaht being out. Jae let us down and even with letting Jack and Larkin waltz into the lane we win this game if he shows up for us the way he did last game. Not even like last game but give us SOMETHING. If Jae's scoring, RB, and steals were all because of Smaht then we have A HUGE PROBLEM!

people would be losing it if anyone else on this team had a line like Bae and his man had Joe's stats. *crickets*

We have exemplified elite defense in most of our 12 games so far this year. This was an off-game. Our offense actually was decent, but we didn't get the key stops/turnovers that led to easy buckets and explosive runs.

This game kind of reminded me of the Raptors game in the early season. Teams that are willing to force the issue on drives (and willing to die by it on turnovers) can sometimes find a grinding rhythm against us that weakens our offense a bit.

Another shot-blocker may help that, but let's not assume that our defense is as good as it can be. As our young players continue to develop anticipation on rotations and learn good on-ball defense, we may actually get even better at defense, even if we force less turnovers.

Not ignored, but overall he is above average. That's a lot better than he is typically painted. Besides he is forcing offensive players to shoot outside of 15 feet more than half the time, where his contest rate is solid.

The Nets tied their season high for scoring and had their season high for FG%. We're first and foremost a defensive team, but not tonight.

Isaiah has done a decent job defensively in some of the games I've watched, but against bigger, veteran guards, he's gotten worked.  Guys who have been around the block in this league, with good size and scoring ability for the point guard position, know how to take advantage of a tiny guy guarding them.

Jack and Monta Ellis are the two that were most noticeable to me.

This game was over early, I told my son early on, they wanted it more than we did.   We lost a lot of 50/50 we normally would have won.  I think we took them lightly and they wanted payback, and we lost.  It happens, the sky is not falling, we are going to have some up and downs.

It is hard to beat a professional team on your level two games in a row. I thought because of this reality the Celtics would have come out with more resolve, but they didn't. This one is on the coaches.
