In some ways this feels a little bit like a return-to-reason game for both of these teams.  The Celts never made sense to me as a team with one of the best differentials in the league, and the Nets have too good a starting lineup, with too much experience winning games, to be utterly abysmal.

I refuse to believe Smart was that important to this teams defense. They'll miss it but come on...

Same. The effort on d has been really bad...

There is not one game in which I realize how bad AB is laying up the ball in the fast break... impressive

IT vs the Nets... at least it feels that way

This is what happens when we get down.  Thomas has a tendency to try and shoot his team back into the game by himself when it feels like the Celts are facing overwhelming odds.

I'm as eager as anybody for the Nets to be horrible and hand us a top pick, and there have been plenty of legitimate reasons since before the season to believe that will happen.  There have also been plenty of reasons to think they'll stick around in a lot of games and threaten to stay above the bottom 5.  This game is an example of that.  That is all I'm saying.
If we use a one game sample, then them losing the Lakers is also example why they're one of the league's 3 worst teams. Like I said, they've played 13 games and have lost 11.

Ultimately, it comes down to this, I don't care about whether they win 18 or 28 games. Can you name 5 teams worse than Brooklyn?

Celtics clawing their way back slowly. They need to tighten up the D more.

Avery's never been the interior finisher he needed to become to be more than a streaky scorer.  Relies entirely on his jumper.

Unless AB is hot though he's really the only guy that can get us back in though... no one else is consistent enough on offense it's why our terrible d tonight is truly killing us

Marcus smart has nothing to do with bargnani showing up for the first time this season.

Lopez ability to score tonight has been unreal... I mean hes even hit a one handed floater before 3 Celtic jerseys could contest.

Wow.

That was a key offensive trip -- couldn't get anything going.    Needed that.

Sounds like ET.

Does something incredibly well one time, then does another boneheaded play to muck it up.
