He's had one good game and is shooting .400 from the field on the season. I'm pretty sure Adam Morrison had a similar rookie year, so the jury is still obviously out on this one.

I've been watching most of their games. He has had several good games. Your statement is wrong. Yeah, go ahead and categorize him with Adam Morrison. Let's check back in at the end of the season on that one.

Weird that Phil Jackson can identify good basketball players.

Reminds me of a young LaMarcus Aldridge. With an even higher variety / range of skills.

More shooting range (three pointers).
More rebounding (at early age).
More shot-blocking ability.

What an odd choice of comparison.

Uh what? The jury is obviously out on all rookies but he's averaging 13 and 9 with 1.5 blocks per game. Sure he's shooting "40%" (43% to be exact) on the season, but he's picked it up even more...over his past 5 games he's shooting 48% from the field and 47% from three.

Saying he has had one good game is just silly, blatant denial. I mean, the dude made history for crying out loud.

Is he the next superstar? Maybe. Is he the next, i dont know, adam morrison or Vin Baker? Maybe. Again, the jury is still out on him and he could go either way, its far too early to tell....But you can't deny the fact that he has had a good start to the season and that he has the potential to be a great player in the league.

Another stinker tonight... 20 points 14 rebounds 2 blocks and a steal on 50% from the floor and 3-5 from three.

Vin Baker was a four time all star and was good, just fell apart a couple years premature.  Probably not the best example of a bust.

To be fair koz's post is 5 days old, his figures might've been right when he posted them.

Porzingis has had a nice stretch - I tend to be wary of skinnier Euro big men but he seems to be the real deal.  Very surprised he's contributing so early in his career at least.

It's like comparing Marcus Smart to Marcus Banks.  ;)

Yeah, and you should be. Dirk and Pau have had awful careers as well.  ;)

Eh they're more like the exception rather than the rule.

And to think he could have been a Celtic had Charlotte or a few other teams given up their pick on draft night!

Yeah I heard that on Simmons podcast recently... that we would have given up the 6 draft picks to move up to Charlotte's #9 and then moved up from #9 to #4.  Oof.

But it almost sounds like we would have moved up to #4 to take Winslow.
