I wonder if Mister Jordan had a re-do, would he still draft Frank with the ninth pick or take Danny's offer?

he'd still redraft Kaminsky because after all, he's MJ and only rivaled by Isiah Thomas for incompetence in running a franchise

Still early but honestly rejecting DA's offer is one thing but then not drafting Winslow yourself... Might really look bad in a couple of years

Think if the amount DA was offering is a fact .  Then I believe Celtics dodged a bullet .  The offer was way more than Winslow seems to be worth .

lol, this.  Ted Stepien was so bad that he got a rule named after him to protect GMs from their own incompetence.

For Billy King's part, who knows how many picks he would have given up for Pierce and KG had the aforementioned Ted Stepien rule not prevented him from selling them all away.

I feel bad for whatever prospect MJ is high on in the future. Basically if he's high on you, it's the kiss of death for your NBA career.

It's more than Winslow is probably worth but Ainge practically has more assets than he can use.

Very true. Ainge has like 8 draft picks in this draft. He is probably going to need to overpay in picks at some point to consolidate and get "his guy", whether that guy is an established player or a drafted player.

to be fair, are we also lucky that he refused that package, how's Winslow doing?

I wonder which flub will look worse five years from;

1)  Russell over Okafor

or

2) Standing pat to draft Frank Kaminsky at #9

His numbers aren't great but he's earning over 28 mpg on a playoff team because his defense is great and he does so many good things on the court. He's like a more athletic Jae Crowder but he's only 19. I'd still trade Rozier, Hunter, and Mickey for him right now.

I'm 99.999% sure it will be Kaminksy, but I'm mostly basing that on how great I think both Russell and Winslow are going to be. We're overreacting to how little impact Kaminsky and Russell have had so far, and by how many stats Jah has been forced to put up.

Kaminsky is getting really underrated these days. We all watched him in college- he's better than Kelly Olynyk. After a year or two getting adjusted to the league, he's going to be at least a borderline starter doing the same things we are watching Kelly do. In very limited action so far, he's made his threes, kept control of the ball, and made some good passes. If Kaminsky was tasked with finishing a third of Philadelphia's possessions, he'd be putting up 15-20 points a night too.

You are super right about this. We will have more picks + rookies + sophomores than we can use very soon. We're already juggling Rozier, Hunter, Mickey, and Young in a situation where most teams would just be trying to get one young developmental guy on the floor on a regular basis.

Winslow might not be "worth" that price, but we would have a much clearer path forward if we had him instead of a game of a glut of lesser players playing musical chairs.
