Can a mod sticky a DA historical deals thread? I think we'd all dig it. Shotgun not doing any research.

Alright so internet says some guy called Brandon Wright. I thought he was part o the ronda deal. Bueller. ..anyone anyone.

He was part of the Rondo deal, we acquired him there with Crowder and the Dallas 1st, then flipped him to Phoenix for 2 draft picks, including the conditional Minny 1st.

This was separate from the IT trade, though, where we sent out a Cleveland 1st to them.

Close.  We only got the Minnesota conditional 1st from Phoenix for Wright, not two picks including the Minny 1st (although technically if we don't get a first from Minny we get two seconds, but there were no other picks from Phoenix.)

The trade was originally rumored to be for two picks, but it was actually just the conditional MIN 1st which converts to 2 second rounders this year if MIN is a bottom 12 finisher in terms of its record.

Wrong

People who are looking for what picks we have and how we got them can go here:

and then search for the actual trade details given the team names and date of the trade. There are other ways too.

Huh - article I found said a 2nd and the conditional 1st.  It also said the 1st would turn into a single 2nd if it didn't convey, so maybe they were mixing up the picks.

Other links confirm your version though.  Guess that's what I get for clicking on the first link that came up (it was USA Today)

Yeah, it is two 2nds if the protection on the 1st rounder triggers (as colincb posted).

Quote
2016 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 2016 1st round pick to Boston (via Phoenix) protected for selections 1-12; if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Boston [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012; Boston-Phoenix, 1/9/2015]

the second this season won't be too bad (even we though we want the lotto or just outside first) because it will be like a late first rounder w/o having to guarantee the player.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Am I crazy for obsessing about this pick? (don't answer that... ;D)

But seriously, this pick could be #13!  That's a great pick...as a trade chip or as a Celtics selection.

If it doesn't convey then it becomes two second rounders... :-\...that would hurt so bad.

Come on Timberpups...pick up the pace...get out of the bottom 12!

If Flip Saunders were to have coached the team this season I think there may have been a very good chance of us getting a 1st out of the T'Wolves. Unfortunately, I think Sam Mitchell might be one of the 3 - 4 worst coaches in the league so he'll probably cost them enough games to comfortably miss the playoffs.

The talent is there though and the middle to bottom of the West is considerably weaker than last year so there's a glimmer of hope but I think this one laves us disappointed.

Easy four-game stretch coming up for the pups - Denver, NY, Sac, and BKN. Then it turns ugly - Boston, Spurs, Pacers, Spurs. Then flattens out - utah, detroit, bucks, philly, denver.

They could come out of that winning 8 of 13.

They will probably need to get the 8 seed for the pick to convey, but that means probably only .500 basketball over the rest of the season if they can do OK over the next 13. Then BAM! The 15th pick of the 2016 NBA draft is OURS BABY!!!

What do they need to do for the 13th pick? They don't HAVE to make the playoffs for that, right?
