Good points.
But I tend to believe the reason he can create for himself is the fact that he has space.
Do you believe he will have the same space as a Celtics?

Good player ,    Don't think I want him as max player.......although kinda depends on Who else DA signs.

Love to keep Amir as the first big off the bench .

We still need Oakfor , Cousins ,   ......a serious big starter.

Here's an article written from the Golden State point of view. And yes, it mentions a possible trade to the Celtics.

That guy is crazy wanting Bradley over Crowder. Crowder would be the absolute perfect replacement for Barnes - best long-term, cost-controlled deal in the NBA, versatile defender, reliable shooter, excellent work ethic.

That being said, I wouldn't trade him for him. I'd like to have Barnes on our team, but I don't think he'll justify the crazy money he'll get this summer.
Not crazy at all.  I would take Bradley over Crowder too.  By a lot.

And this is the problem with how many fans think of trades.  Like it has to be one small forward for another.  Doesn't have to work that way at all.  You go after value, regardless of position.

There is no way that Danny goes after Barnes with Crowder in the fold. I will agree that Barnes has more potential than Crowder, but their current value is roughly equal.

When you factor in that Crowder would be a third of the cost, it would be madness to blow a max slot on Barnes. You can't blow those contracts on marginal improvement.

The only scenario I see that makes sense is if Danny is can pull off a two step move - swing a major trade using Crowder that brings in a star or quality big, and and brings in Barnes as a free agent to replace Crowder.

Bradley is very underrated here.
Try to envision how Bradley will perform in GS. He will be a stud defensively and will be most of the time wide open shooting 40% on 3s.
Bradley has big value as a 3rd scorer in a contending team.
As a matter of fact, he would be great in OKC, in Cleveland, in SA and in the Clippers.
Basically every top team.
We need to keep him, like Crowder.

I think it's a possibility.  Barnes would have to show continued growth this season, however.  I'd think it also depends what happens in the draft.  If the basketball gods smile on us and we get Simmons, I would think Barnes drops down the priority list.  He'll also have to be told no by KD and LeBron first, which is obviously very likely and a near certainty, respectively, but Danny can't help himself but ask.

Of course, with the amount of money teams have to spend, I'd also expect that if the C's don't give Barnes a max offer, someone else will, barring complete regression this season.

I agree with Saltlover. Barnes is not a high priority but he is worth considering depending on the circumstances.

It seems highly likely that someone is going to offer Barnes a max contract.  It seems highly likely that other teams will be able to offer Barnes more playing time and a bigger role on offense, while he wouldn't even be a shoe-in to start on the Celtics.  If Barnes wants a more expanded role than what he is getting in Golden State, Boston seems like a horrible place for him to go.

Good thinking here; but Crowder leapfrogged Barnes this year - I wouldn't agree that "their current value is roughly equal".

I should point out this post was zombied from October.  While I generally stand by what I said at the beginning of the season, I think Barnes is plan B or C.  I bet he'll get a call after Ainge hangs up with Durant and Horford.
