Watched most of the DEN@LAL game. 2 bad teams, with Lakers looking worse.
- Kobe looks like toast finally. Missing badly on wide-open shots. Looks like he lost a step. Kind of sad really, especially given how competitive he is. Steve Smith and Isaih Thomas both said that what you see is what you are going to get.
- Russell continues to struggle badly. Decent passer, but that's it so far. Have to think he'll get better, but Mudiay's clearly the better prospect. Steve Smith and Isaih Thomas concur. Thomas was particularly critical of russell and both said he may be in the wrong city to develop.
- The idea that Randle is the next Zach Randolph is total BS. Works hard, rebounds well, runs floor, good motor, dunks superbly. Not great in traffic, not a great finisher if defended, has no outside game (very unlike Randolph), and has no defensive instincts (but he is a rookie). He looks like he'll be good, not great. Will score on a bad team and against weak interior defenses, but put a good defender on him and he'd really struggle. Shooting 46% from the field and he's hit one shot from > 10 feet.
- Clarkson looks like their best player, but more a defenseless SG than a PG.
- Defense is very porous without Hibbert, but Hibbert screws up the offense.
Good chance to keep their own pick this year.
