Kings fans had enough of DMC...

Does Divac share their feelings?

And btw, Casspi is having a great seaon.

LOL, man the reactions are completely overboard.
That's how I'd feel if I were a Kings fan.  It's easier to have less harsh opinion from a distance.

They're up in arms because Cousins had the audacity to remove himself from those trying to hold him back, you know, when his sole intention was a direct line to the locker room. Boo-hoo.

So he exploded and got ejected. Not the sole person to do it this year. I mean, Blake Griffin has been ejected twice already this season and has 7 techs to Cousins' 6.

Celticsblog darlings DeAndre Jordan and Draymond Green have 7 techs each (the former with an ejection as well). Another CB darling in Paul George also has 6 techs. So in all, what Cousins is doing while in the upper echelon of techs (and worth pointing out in less games than these guys), it's not out of the ordinary either and comparable with players that are looked at as positive influencers in those teams.

And when you consider the disaster the team is going through, and the disaster that front office is (to say nothing of the inept officiating around), it's not that hard to fathom that this player will have the occasional explosion. But in all, just not troublesome as it's being made out to be.

And hey, Celticsblog fan favorite Kevin Garnett has 4 techs so far this year and he's barely playing. Food for thought.

So in all, just a big "meh" from me.

Other than Paul George is Deandre Jordan and Draymond Green the teams best players? The Kings kept it close against the Warriors until Demarcus got ejected.

Not sure what "best" has to do with it.  But you look at the list of tech leaders and it's riddled with the top players from every team.  Kyle Lowry has 7, Howard has 6.  Melo, Paul, Westbrook, IT, Drummond all have four.  Khris Middleton was his team's best player last year - he has four also.  Really the only people in the top 16 of techs who don't belong based on "bestness" are the Morii, with 6 and 4 going to the Detroit and Phienix versions, respectively.  Not all stars get techs, but all the players who get a lot of techs seem to be stars.

EDIT: Also, I don't think DMC's ejection had much impact on the game.  He'd just picked up his 5th foul, and had been on the court only 12 minutes for the entire game.  The rate the refs were calling fouls on him, he had about 3 minutes left of court time.

Just watched the replay of the foul called on DMC that got him complaining and ejected, and it was flat out ridiculous.  The whistle blew before Curry was within feet of Cousins, and McLemore had two hands wrapped around Curry at the time of the whistle.  Then after the whistle Curry goes up for a shot and DMC makes contact.  The play was already over, but they called the foul on DMC.  DMC starts talking to the ref who presumably blew the whistle (he was near the Curry-McLemore action) and after several seconds of four Kings players all calmly talking to said official, a ref from across the court, whom DMC wasn't talking to at all and in fact had is back to, called a tech on him.  This was the same ref who mis-assigned the foul in the first place.  Honestly if that happened in a Celtics game with our best player I might have grown something through the TV.  Frankly the NBA should rescind a tech.

I get that Cousins has a reputation, but there's a bad rep and bad officiating.  This was plainly the latter.

not that i am watching all those games and seen all the techs, but its one thing if a tech is costing your team a FT or an ejection and possible suspension.

Hassan Whiteside........!!!

Kid is slowly winning me over.

Whiteside gave DAL the Darkside last night (ESPN Clip), LOL.

Great game from him.

He seems to be developing a mid-range J, now.

Work on that perimeter D, Hassan - especially on these stretch 5's.

Randle gets called out for lack of D and then gets benched by Scott. He simply doesn't play defense. Doesn't care to really. On D just wants to hang around the basket to pad his stats for boards (which he often steals from teammates). So glad we took Smart over him. Randle might put up numbers for reasons mentioned, but while Smart does little things to win games, Randle does all the little things to lose them.

Nice breakdown (pics and gifs) of what Randle was doing out there.

And Randle response:

Mike Bresnahan: Randle’s response? “I don’t think there was defense on the court at all in the 4th and [Scott] singled me out. I think it was a team thing.” – via Twitter Mike_Bresnahan

Yep, Randle definitely seems like that type of player. In the Lakers game he might as well have been a chair down low defensively. I think the character issues are the greatest difference between Randle and Smart, which makes Smart a much more valuable player to any competitive team.

...just realized this doesn't embed any more.  It's an old Burger King ad featuring Dell Curry "and son".  Pretty neat.  No 20 years younger shots of Mama Curry though, unfortunately.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
That was a REALLY long 1.3 seconds.

And it sucks for us with Dallas getting another win.

Also, Cousins was great (except for the 10 TOs), but when he makes a good play, he needs to move on to the next play, not revel in how awesome he is.
