Wow, Sacramento choking down the stretch and letting the Lakers take the lead late! If the Lakers win this game, they'll only be one loss behind Brooklyn in the standings!

Living in LA area, I see lots of people hyped for the lakers future because of Clarkson and Russell. What's your thoughts on them?
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

I dont like Russell. I would trade almost anyone on the celtics for Clarkson. He's gonna be something. He was picked after Smart...

Tank commander Byron Scott in control. Took Russell out with 1:30 to go, and he was the guy who led the comeback.

Edit: Twisted Ankle my bad..

Russell had 27... I'd trade anyone on our roster for Russell, not so much Clarkson. I think Russell and Clarkson are, unfortunately, both going to be big for the lakers in the future.

Why did the Celtics choose Smart over Randle? That's what I assume Celtic fans will be asking over and over again.

Haven't posted in a while, but I will say that Randle is still very raw. He is an athletic freak with handles, but has no jumper, and also cannot go right. I'm not extremely high on him, but maybe he can develop.

Between Russell and Clarkson, our fanbase likes Clarkson a lot, but they think Russell could be something special. He has really good vision, sick handles, and a pure shot with a quick release. His stats don't quite show that, due to a poor start to the season, and his defense/athleticism needs a lot of work, but I would agree that his ceiling is much higher than Clarkson's.

Randle plays so out of control.  I only watched the second 1/2 of the game and time and time again he would be so out of control going to the hoop that he loses the ball, or throws a bad pass or runs over someone for a charge.  I am not convinced we missed out at all by not picking him.

That's kind of a silly comment, imo.

Russell is far and away a better prospect than anyone on the Celtics.   Odd timing for your comment considering Russell just carried the Lakers down the stretch almost beat the Kings by himself until he rolled his ankle.  27 points, 4 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 29 minutes.

Kid is only 19 years old... he's going to be really... really good.

Smart vs Randle is more interesting.  I still have Smart with the slight edge.

Non-Celtics NBA trade proposal so I thought I'd put it here:

Chris Paul and Wes Johnson for Derrick Rose, Bobby Portis, Doug McDermott, Kings pick, 2018 unprotected Bulls pick.

The Clippers have piqued and they are not getting past Warriors, Spurs, or Thunder at full stength. Those three teams are one notch above everyone else, and Chris Paul is not getting any younger. It'll be hard to find suitable value for Paul at this point because rebuilding teams won't want him and not many win-now teams have good young value. The closest one I could find is Chicago.

The only value that Derrick Rose has at this point is his soon to be expiring contract and the Clips could use his contract next year to trade it for another young point guard that could be on the market.

This move could hypothetically get the Bulls to move forward to be the team we all expected them to be. What do you guys think?

Randle is coming off as a real headcase lately and has definitely been outplayed by Larry Nance Jr. I don't want to do that whole smart or Randle thing, but I am really glad we don't have Randle.

I don't think the Clippers should break up their core. CP3 & B.Griffin is an excellent duo. D.Jordan is a very good third wheel. Those guys are not the problem.

The problem with LAC is the supporting cast. They have been pursuing the wrong type of role players. They need more defense and rebounding. Especially on the perimeter. Too many offensive minded guys (Redick, Crawford, Pierce, Rivers).

The Clippers core is still young enough to have several more years ahead of them. Plenty of time to address the problem and get the team back into title contention. Much higher chance of winning a title by keeping those guys together versus breaking them up.
