The good
- Incredible size, explosiveness, strength for a SF/PF. Has a similar body and physical tools to Lebron
- Versatile active defender. Good rebounder and decent shot blocker
- Lacks above average offensive skills but can score in many ways just by utilizing his physical tools
- Effort is there
The bad
- lacks above average offensive skills - below average handles, shooting stroke, lacks back to basket moves
- defensively can lose focus of his man (tries to do too much at once)
- mediocre to below avg IQ
- Time is running out - Already a senior
Poythress may never be a superstar but maybe he could turn out to be like a Iguadala if he can "tighten" up his game. Just keep working on his handles, especially improve going left, tweak his shooting mechanic. He doesn't even have to turn out to be an amazing ball handler (just turnover the ball less), doesn't have to be a lights out shooter (just make the open shot). Lastly improve his focus on the offensive end.
Not stating to use any of our 1st on Poythress, unless he has a pretty good season after coming back from an injury. But could be a good prospect to choose in the 2nd round, and try to turn him into a 1st round talent.
