So my question would it be worth trying to trade two players such as Perry Jones and Kelly Olynyk or Evan Turner even though I rather keep him, to trade for a 1st or 2nd rounder.  Then having the roster room to sign Robert Upshaw.

I am awestruck at this suggestion - giving up an actual productive player (both Olynyk and Turner played a big role in out second half push last year) just to create a roster space to sign a guy who is only only unproven, but seemingly uncountable.

They might not be perfect, but it saddens me much people undervalue our players sometimes.  If i were KO or Turner I would be insulted by such a sentiment.

I was one of the posters that wanted the celtics to take him. I really wanted the Celtics TO WANT to take him, even at 16(this was only right before the draft)...but only if we traded up to get Myles Turner. I do admit I did not think he would ever go undrafted....really never thought that, especially with the Hassan Whiteside pick up by Miami and the comparisons.
But I also admitted to not knowing what really was going on and what happened. 7' guys that have 9'5'' standing reach and 7'7'' wingspans do not grow on trees and deserve an extra look from everyone, especially teams that have a hole at center. But the fact is he has extraordinary length and if he chooses to take or do things that effectively put him to sleep and give him a clouded/foggy outlook, well he is not talented enough to do play in the NBA and do both.

In my defense Karl Towns was the one who I wanted all year. Then when we started winning and he started rising I valued Myles Turner as an undervalued prospect that had chosen the wrong team and had a pretty good chance at correcting his hip issue. I basically ended each of my posts with:
DRAFT KARL TOWNS then DRAFT MYLES TURNER.
Actually many people(scouts/gm's) did not like Towns because of his knees and thought he lacked athleticism to play in the NBA and would wear down. Scouts and Gm's were also afraid of Myles Turner and his knees, hips, and awkward running.

I think Towns and Turner have been playing very well and I only wish that one of them were on our team. It literally pains me to know how close we were to missing the playoffs and getting Turner. I also thought that Dakari and some of the other bigs on UK could  keep Towns more hidden, but I was wrong and Towns really showed out the older and bigger guys.....but the worst is missing out on Turner and seeing the Pacers get him, and Winslow going to Miami. We played hard and fought and the teams that have superstars get the better pick because we barely beat them out for the playoffs. If we had a franchise player or players I would be happy but we don't and that is what also shapes my view and puts me in the minority of fans that want to essentially tank.

I think you need to chill a little and realize the abstracted, alluring promise of potential is always more tantalizing than reality, but rarely corresponds. An empty space you can fill with whatever you like in your mind will always be filled with only the finest gold but that doesn't mean there's any gold in reality to actually be had.

...and yet so far Winslow has looked like every bit the mediocre talent I expected him to be, while Terry Rozier is showing a great deal of promise...and we don't yet know what's going to happen with he or Turner since we haven't had a single actual NBA game yet.

Perhaps we should refrain from making any conclusions until after these guys have played a season in the league.

I mean, people were bagging us out for not losing more games in 14/15 because they wanted us landing in the top 3, and so far the only guy in the top 6 who looks better than Smart is Wiggins.

I had upshaw as our last pick if nobody else was available
Either him or a euro player

But I don't think upshaw is as good as everyone thinks he is
Everyone is just jumping on the bandwagon after hassan whiteside
who Was in a similar situation
Where he had issues and questions concerning him before the draft as well as during the Kings
came back and had a phenomenal season
People think upshaw will be like whiteside

But he's not
His upside is much lower

TP.  When you have too many players in the d league it's always good to stash one in jail. ;)
