So far this pre season we've seen signs that RJ, Rozier, and Mickey will develop into useful players. I'm not talking games, I'm taking about mire minutes here, where each has played well and given a short view into the window of the future.
-RJ hits a nice shot, makes a nice pass or two, and plays some quality D.
-Rozier, hits a jumper, hits a corner 3, plays some solid D, handles the ball well, and gets to where he needs to on the court.
-Mickey, blocks a few shots, grabs a few rebounds, hits a jumper, mixes it up under the boards.
-James Young in his second year, looks lost while playing against European competition, and yes, he did hit a 3. nice shot. While hardly playing in Spain at all. He shows little real confidence and desire.
That's all some of us are looking for is 4-5 minutes where James gets it. Where he hits a jumper within the team offensive scheme, maybe takes the ball to the rim, then maybe hits a 3, and plays involved ball, aggressive team defense, maybe grabs 3 rebounds, just a flash of hope.
I understand he's very young, he needs another full year in Maine, and another good look at the end of the year in Boston, maybe another summer league, and then another pre season, and then a final decision.
I think everyone here is hoping James Young blossoms and is a keeper.
