I still think they can hover around .500 this season.

Not a chance when you posted it and not a chance 6 weeks later. Your latest prognostication that the Nets will "win some games eventually" seems like a winner though.
Still a chance they end up .500.

I'd be happy to be wrong.

And there's a chance the Celtics go 78-4...
That'd be swell.

Celtics currently have a 2% probability of winning the title.   Nets currently have a 19% probability of making the playoffs.  Both seem unlikely right now.  Not impossible, though.

Except that winning a championship is gigantically more difficult than making the playoffs.  Making the playoffs in the East hasn't even required you to have a winning record for quite a few years now.

They're really not comparable.

Mike
Exactly.  The season is long and a lot can happen.  I'm not ready to throw my Brooklyn draft pick celebration party yet... never know what might happen.  Maybe they'll pull a 2014 Celtics, dump all their best players, come back from 15 games under .500 to make the playoffs.  Who knows.

Tuff game

Not feeling overly confident right now in the Hawks.

Sounds like Teague is out and that Schroeder is starting.  Let's go German Rondo!

Splitter starting. They're going big. Schroder is a blur and Jack will have trouble staying in front of him.
Yup, Teague and Bazemore are out.  That's two of their starters gone.

The Hawks are a terrible rebounding team.  Need Horford and Millsap to shoulder the load both offensively and on the glass.

If this is what the 3rd best team in the East looks like against the second worst, the Celtics should be making the playoffs.  The Hawks look so sloppy, but I guess they are missing their starting PG

Hawks won all those games last year by not losing these kinds of games.

That was the worst possession I've seen in years, counting pick up games.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
is Teague out for the Hawks? I started watching at end of first quarter and haven't seen him yet.

ATL should still win this pretty easily with their depth late in the 3rd.

Side note: Jarrett Jack is an utterly terrible basketball player.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
