I hope he can return to form.  It would be tragic for him and for bball if his foot injury ruins his career.

I dont want him anymore due to that injury.  Too risky imho.

the risk is mitigated by the cap increases. At somepoint we may have to spend just to get to the cap floor. When you factor that in, a guy like KD is def worth the risk.

Agree there will probably be fewer moves because we are closer to where we need/want to be. The most recent additions after the draft feel like they are improvements/cover in positions where we still need help. We are still looking for the two players (centre and probably small forward who shoots 20+) who make us contenders.

Having just read what I have written though I wonder if, besides IT, we really have the players to support the star names that get mentioned  in achieving a title. A lot depends on Sullinger, Smart and Bradley. These three could all be starters who get big minutes, all have potential to be part of something bigger and all need to have big seasons to remain part of the plan.

Depending on what we have to give up to get a sat I think we would have most of the supporting cast already here. Smart (just needs a bit more consistancy and he should get hat this year), AB, Crowder, IT and Zeller are a nice supporting cast. I'm not even figuring the new guys into the equation. I just wish there were more names out there of potential stars we might be able to get. For this season I see 3 very long shots in Melo, DMC and KD.

Only big name is DMC that may move this year. With Cap going up so much almost everyone has money.
It will be less. 4 tops. Camp he makes a move, One in Dec for another teams injury. Deadline deal of Lee, Johnson or Bradley to a contender. The extra is because Danny likes to trade.

I think there will be fewer trades this year.  The Celtics, and teams around the league in general, will be more conservative in order to preserve cap space. 

My guess is that the Celts make a couple of trades to consolidate, but nothing major.  Danny will keep together the basic group we see out there to start the season and we'll see if we can get another nice little playoff run out of it. 

Then, next summer, Danny will roll the dice again and try to get the pieces of a real team together.  If not, expect another bridge year.

I consider the 76ers to be more of a social club than a basketball team.

But seriously, I forgot about them. How insane is it that you can make 10 trades in a year and not be the team that trades the most.

I think we are doing the right thing, given how the rules work. I wish there could be some change in the rules that would make it so guys stay put more often. I don't really know how it would work, and I guess it wouldn't really help us at the moment. But generally speaking, I enjoy watching guys grow as players and individuals over the span of their careers. But I don't get to see it as much as I'd like. We got really lucky to have PP for so long. In today's NBA if you get to keep a guy for 4 years that seems like forever.
