Potter, try researching about organic/natural ways to burn fat. Firstly, most of us have unknowingly taken in many metals throughout our life in the forms of: aluminum in deodorant, showering and getting metals through the skin and breathing in steam, just drinking regular water, taking prescription pills or getting certain vaccines.
So metals get stored largely in fat. And trying to burn that fat gets difficult if you have those metals present. Some people like doing parasite/ candida cleanses first, then metal cleanses(I believe but def research it for YOURSELF). Something I do to lose weight/ get my metabolism up is to eat foods that stop food stagnation, get the thyroid moving (naturally), and eat foods that help convert fat into energy....like coconut oil (I use organic). I also start every day off with drinking apple cider vinegar from Braggs with Lemon and honey in a glass of spring water. I also am doing the anti-inflammatory diet (lifestyle) and try green tea that you make yourself a few times a day.
Stay away from soy (I'm still trying to figure out how/why I need to stay away from soy efficiently)and processed foods. Here is a site that I enjoy. I believe if you are eating right, drinking 4 liters of water a day(depends on how much you weigh), eating organic and natural, and taking supplements for vitamin B and D, and exercising......you should have no problem losing weight. Maybe you should look at your diet and your health and see if anything sticks out to you as a problem.
Here is the site:

I just recently started trying to live a more natural life. Here are some pics that have some of the food I have purchased/want to purchase:
