I'm not sure how you can title a thread 'don't trade zeller', in other words, I do not think any GM would ever say no to a trade because the other team asked for Zeller. Tyler Zeller is extremely tradeable, the problem is no teams want him. No teams want a center who gets physically dominated in the post. Ok he can outrun the other center sometimes, that is only a few plays a game whereas Zeller regularly gets dominated under the basket. You saw him get tossed aside countless times last season, he is not strong enough, he cannot stand up to any real centers. So how can you say 'don't trade zeller'? The guy is barely passable as a 2nd line center on a decent roster.
Yeah, he has a nice outside shot and some surprisingly good post moves that we see once in a blue moon, but at the same time, he doesn't really rebound, nor does he block any shots. He's okay, but I'd much rather have Henry Sims.
What?! Sims is a borderline NBA player. Zeller showed last year he'll be a legit back-up C going forward. He's very good on the break, makes smart plays, excellent on the P&R and has crafty moves near the basket. Even defensively, he's limited but passable. I think he improved there last year and can still continue to do so.
Henry Sims got less than 20 minutes a game playing on the Sixers. I don't know if he could get more than mop up minutes playing for just about any other team in the league. Zeller certainly could. I know we normally don't agree, but that's just too much.
Sorry. I'm not trying to provoke you or anything. Sims is one of my favorite players, and he should have been a Celtic in the 2012 draft. Have you ever seen him play? He can pass, score with either hand on the block (which is incredibly rare), rebound, defend, run the floor, hit the midrange and faceup shot until the cows come home, and is a no-nonsense, old school kind of player, imo. He also has a 7'4" wingspan, which helps a lot, defensively, as I'm sure you're aware of. I'm not saying he's a franchise cornerstone or anything, but I'd rather have him than KO, Zeller, Sully (his weight and attitude are too much of a risk, long term, imo, plus I hate that we have someone on the team associated with domestic violence), and Amir. He'd also cost next to nothing, btw. I would probably take him over Lee, too, because at least Sims can defend, lol

. Have a look on youtube for some of his highlights. You might just be pleasantly surprised
