He ripped his contract. Doesn't this remind you of the Isaiah Thomas situation and then Danny just swoops in offering up a bundle of poo? I would love to get Morris.

Quote
Suns forward Markieff Morris wants out of Phoenix and has cut off contact with the team, sources have informed the Burns and Gambo Show, which airs on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM (Twitter link). Morris reportedly wants nothing to do with the coaches, front office personnel, and even his teammates, according to Burns and Gambo.

Morris is likely upset that his twin brother Marcus was dealt to the Pistons along with Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger in exchange for a 2020 second-rounder. The deal with Detroit separated the twins just months after they signed rookie scale extensions with designs on staying together. The Suns had allowed them to divvy up $52MM in extension money this past fall, and Markieff is slated to make $8MM this coming season in the first year of his four-year, $32MM extension.

Phoenix had reportedly been shopping (Markieff) Morris due to him having poor relationship with coach Jeff Hornacek, as well as the anticipated backlash from the player in the wake of his brother being dealt. It’s unclear what the market would be for Markieff at this point given his legal troubles and the likely stigma that would be attached to him forcing an exit from the team with which he has spent his entire career since becoming the No. 13 overall pick back in 2011. The Pistons don’t appear to be a viable option with their packed frontcourt, and being dealt to another team certainly wouldn’t solve Morris’ desire to play alongside his brother.

The 25-year-old appeared in 82 contests last season for the Suns, all as a starter, and posted averages of 15.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 31.5 minutes per game, and had a slash line of .465/.318/.763.

No.  He's a 3/4 like Perry Jones.  Or maybe that's Marcus.  I can't keep track.

Little sissy doesn't want to play without his brother.  Be your own man and grow up.  Same issue when they were rookies.  I wouldn't go near either of these boneheads.

One of the morris brothers was the mentor to my 2k player.  Always hated every word out of his mouth.

When his brother got traded, I was pretty surprised to hear that this would be the first time in their lives of playing basketball that they wouldn't be on the same team.

I can't help but think that him being apart from his brother was his breaking point.  And if that's the case, shame on him.  He's gotta grow up.  Welcome to the NBA man, it's a business.  Players get traded, best friends on teams get traded, it happens.  Suck it up and learn to be your own man with your own career.

He's a headcase, but you can't deny that there's talent there. He probably won't cost all that much to acquire either...
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

You're correct, he's a 'swing' in Brad's system.

If he truly "ripped up" his contract, he deserves a good, hard look

This...

Sorry, but guys like this are exactly the type of guys you DON'T want on your team.  Luckily recent history indicates Danny / Brad agree, because they have primarily gone after positive-attitude players in the past year.

At the end of the day this is the NBA, and it's a business.  Teams are going to trade whoever they want to trade if they feel it makes them better, or gives them a better shot at achieving their end goal.  You signed a contact agreeing to take gobs of money from said team, and you insisted only only playing with your brother then you should have requested that as a special clause in your contract - which of course, no team would agree to...so you'd be out of a job.

There is a right way, and a wrong way, to deal with situations.  There's the David Lee way (being a pro and dealing with your situation, even if you don't like it) and there is the Bogans way (have a hissy fit and jump up and down).   I think we all know which is the right way.
