I think playing with Okafor will really hurt Noel's value. And of course Philly is more invested in developing Okafor. By mid-season, I think they might realize this.
I just don't think those two can play together realistically, and Okafor has a much higher ceiling so you gotta give him more minutes. Part of the reason Noel's value was so high at the end of last year was because he was being so heavily highlighted in every Philly game. He was the only legit long term piece on that team last year, and he played pretty well with all that usage. But when you put him next to Okafor, his offense isn't going to look very good. His D will still be there, but as we get to the ASG I think we'll hear rumblings about Hinkie looking to move Him.
I hate "hot takes" but mine would be: By the trade dead-line, the idea that we would have to include Smart to get Noel will seem ludicrous. I think Smart is going to take a big step forward this season, and with a regression in Noel's trade value, if Noel gets moved and we're in the mix, I think the largest asset involved is the Mavs pick.
James Young, David Lee and the 2016 Dallas pick. Then Philly moves Lee. Mark it down, haha.
