Hope he gets well soon and the bone didn't pierce skin like some are reporting.

My only concern is that when he walked off the court and when he came back out to support his team (which I love that he did, what a guy!) he kept the hand concealed, which to me implies that the physical damage that the hand received may be a little more severe than the standard dislocation. Also he came down hard on it. I have a horrible feeling this injury may nag him for a good while, just like the ankle sprain last year.

But until we get more details,we can only hope it is not serious.

I did a similar injury once playing ball.

If it's only a dislocation its not big deal. Ive had 30+ dislocated fingers and these days I just put them back in myself and keep playing. If that's all he'd be able to play again in a few days.

However if it's similar to a dislocation I had once that also damaged ligaments and fractured parts of the finger I was rehabing that for a good 3 months.

Marcus Smart's hand not broken after scare (Well almost 100% certain)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Someone on the team has told Blakeley that Smart's hand is okay.
That looked very scary and when a tough kid screams like that you know he's in serious pain.

Adam Himmelsbach @AdamHimmelsbach
Marcus Smart needed 5 stitches but x-rays are negative. X-Rays will be sent to Celtics docs for another look.

Yesterday? He definitely walked off -- well, more like stumbled around in pain off.

aside from marcus injuring himself, the worse part of this injury?  what if he was the lead of a package danny was putting together for a big trade?  not saying i want him to be traded, but he is one of the better chips we have.   :-\  get well soon marcus!

There was no stretcher. Who are you talking about?
