He's got the system down pat. "Looks like I'm on the trading block again like I was back in January. One more DUI should put a stop to that."

Point guard with a reportedly recalcitrant attitude in the locker room plus a possible drinking problem.....is he a Rajon Rondo/Vin Baker mashup?

Can this finally put an end to all of the Ty Lawson talk?

For the life of me, I've never understood the obsession that so many people have on this blog with Ty Lawson.  He's a good player, but he's another guard, which this team has plenty of, and he's basically a carbon copy of Isaiah Thomas.  Now add on the fact that he clearly seems to be a knucklehead with a drinking problem, there's no reason for the Celtics to give up anything for this guy.

Hopefully this thread closes any book on Ty Lawson to the Cs

Hopefully. I wouldn't have traded Marcus Smart straight up for Lawson as many were suggesting last year. As you said, he's already somewhat redundant with IT on the roster (though Lawson is a better passer).

Plus, Celtics fans should have learned with Vin Baker not to acquire a malcontent with a drinking problem. It usually doesn't work out well.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Man, Lawson likes to party, Kidd would be the perfect coach for him

yeah he does.

during that live-stream he did on draft night, he was openly smoking a hookah.  Outside of Seattle getting a team again, can't see him wanting leave Denver.

still, no excuse for the DUI's.  you make 8 figures a year bro, hire a driver all ready.

Actually, it may increase the obsession since it gives the Cs an opportunity to get him cheap.  He's a good point guard and he would be the best passer on the team.  If they think that Smart is better at the 2, then he may not be a bad fit on the court (if you don't include the knucklehead factor off the court).  I would take the risk if you could get him for someone like Turner.
Turner and AB for Lawson and Gallinari??
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

Few teams had Ty Lawson trade interest, but were waiting on Denver to lower cost. His value's cratered now. He needs to deal w/ his issues.

Bro, do you even Uber? There's literally no excuse in this day and age. Rich or not, no excuse.

well, I've had enough late nights understand the thought process.  I mean, who doesn't want to burn an L after a night out, right?

So, then its where to burn.  You going to burn that on the sidewalk outside?  Nope.
You going to smoke out a cab or someone's uber-mobile.  Nope.
You going back to someone's pad to burn?  Not in LA you aren't, nobody lives nearby.
How about just taking a quick bone ride up the 101?  Bingo.

maybe if the NBA made these kids attend college, they'd learn these kinds of life lessons sooner.

Makes it all the easier for the Rockets to get him. If they do, then, along with re-signing Smith, they will be yet another legit contender in the west.

As far as being an NBA fan goes, I really hope this happens. If not though, I hope someone in the east trades for him to make the Nets playoff push all the harder.

Blows my mind that these millionaires can't just hire a driver or call uber or a cab. Not that that there's ever an excuse for drinking and driving, but pro athletes don't even have the excuse of saying it costs too much to get a ride.

We can't make that deal for a while. It will take a few weeks for Sully to put on enough weight to be called fat again.

Meh... Driving while intoxicated is just idiotic. Go for a walk. Nobody in law enforcement cares.
