It appears the Nuggets have changed the course of their franchise today, signing highly coveted free agent point guard Jameer Nelson to a 3 year deal.

Nelson, a longtime starting point guard for the Orlando Magic, may just push the Nuggets into playoff contenders in the crowded Western conference.

Have to think that Lawson will be moved soon.  Drafted Mudaiy, and then sign Nelson to a multi-year deal.  It's a lot to pay for a third string PG, especially one who doesn't like being third-string.

I would agree with this. However, the fact that they have signed a player that is a serviceable NBA guard make may indicate they are going for it all this year.

yeah....you have to think that Lawson is being shopped. He's not going to Sac bc of Rondo, but I could only see an Eastern Conference team, such as NY or maybe even Brooklyn. There's a need in both locations.

Seems more like insurance for Mudiay and confirmation that Lawson is gone than a playoff push.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Ty Lawson has worn out his welcome in Denver. Too many off court + locker room problems.

Only a matter of time until he is traded.

Who's gonna trade for him, though?

Maybe Phoenix could trade Bledsoe to get Lawson and Faried, or something along those lines.

He would immensely help the Knicks. However, I am not sure if the Knicks have anything that Denver would want.

Yeah, the two halves of the thread title contradict each other.  ;D

I don't think it matters really. They just want him gone.

Somewhere down the line they will let him go regardless of whether they they get good value for him or not -- likely not.

I'd say there is a strong chance they hang onto to him through midseason scouring the market for a better opportunity. Then give up if it doesn't present itself.

The Rockets. They need another playmaker with Harden. I got nothing against Beverley he's a good player but he's a role player. If they get Lawson and re-sign Smith, they solidify themselves as the wests' sixth contender with Spurs, Thunder, Warriors, Clippers, and Grizzlies.

yep.  Some team that wants to make the playoffs will need a PG and put together a solid offer.  The Knicks, Mavericks, Rockets, and Lakers come to mind as a team that might fit that persona.  Then of course there are the inevitable injuries where some other team(s) will come in.  They won't get great value, but if multiple teams want him they might drive the price up to an ok type return.
