The Gerald Wallace for David Lee trade still hasn't been officially executed so perhaps Ainge is considering adding more players or getting other teams involved. What are your thoughts on the situation?

There's been some articles written about it.  I think Ainge can utilize a little extra cap space in this tiny pocket of time when those deals aren't official.  So hopefully he makes a move for someone like Gallinari.

The bigger deal s always take longer to go down

I remember KG being resigned seemed to take forever .

Meh ...please ....we don't want or need a cripple up slow , horrible shooting , defunct Gallinari.

Need to dump ET and Pressey .

Soon, I hope.

Looking forward to DLee in Green. I believe he still has a lot to offer and prove.

Agreed. Great fit here in this system and with this current roster. I don't see how he doesn't at least average 18-20 pts with 8-10 rebounds a night. In games 3 & 4 of the finals, he had half of that within 10-12 minutes of PT. He still has plenty to offer.

Hopefully Danny is realizing the mistake he's making and steps back and keeps the Wallace contract. You do not need another okay rotation player on this team. If you want to develop young 4s then you dont keep trading for the bass and Lee of the world.

The OP is correct, the trade has not been made official yet because Danny wants to either expand the trade or sign someone for the brief period we can. I have a few questions though:

1. Does GS have a reason to want to rush this deal?
2. Who has the leverage? Who wants the trade more and will therefore agree to the other sides timing?

Maybe ths deal gets done right at the last second. Made its done first thing Monday morning.

Like it or not the team is trying to get better now and are not going to sit around and wait for those young guys to get better. We all hope they will get better but there is no guarantee they will. Hopefully KO comes in stronger with a more consistent shot and Sully comes in shape (fat chance of that  ;))

Also Lee is much more than an "okay" rotation player, this guy moves the needle, he will make us a better team.

this trade also benefits us salary-wise, it gives us a bigger expiring to use for matching salaries than Wallace's while also being more valuable than Wallace himself. That makes this more tradeable than Wallace's contract.

If you want to motivate them to play their absolute best so that they don't lose their spot on the team, then you do.

Wallace gave us nothing. Lee is an 18/10 guy who will make the Celtics better and his contract can be used as an asset in case a trade comes up. I'd rather get good production from a $15 million dollar player than no production from a $10 million player. This was a great trade.

I predict it gets done by July 15.  Ainge is still deciding whether Pressey or Babb will be included to satisfy trade rules.  Whoever gets included will be waived.

If Ainge works things so the Celtics get another player in the deal, I suspect it will be someone making less than $4 million who is not on a rookie-scale contract.

I wonder what Pressey's chances of playing here are this season? Looks like he needs a trade to save his spot.

My guess is with him getting pulled off Summer League means he's probably gone

I would get rid of Pressey and Babb and bring on Holmes if that works out.  Not sure exactly how the roster is going to work.

Obviously Mickey first (like what I've seen from him) but then Holmes if possible I would bring on too.

Apparently Cs haven't made up mind about who between PP and Babb should be the filler in the Lee trade.
