I wouldn't trade Smart for Durant today and he is the one player who I possibly would.  It's not like Durant has won a championship on his own.

Smart is 20 years old and is going to be extremely good imo for the Celtics and no I would not trade him. I think he is going to be one of the best if not best guards in the NBA.

I'm a huge Smart fun, but that's crazy talk. You're talking about a 26 year-old former MVP who is the NBA's best scorer and arguably the best perimeter scorer since MJ.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

It's not a laughable statement either because DAnny Ainge isn't going to trade him either. If he does he's not as smart a GM as I thought.

Yeah if Ainge doesn't trade Smart for Durant, I don't think hes as smart as an GM as I thought either...

I say yes for Boston. He will be between Pierce & Rondo in terms of the way he is looked at. Not quite a real superstar for the NBA but for sure for the Celts.  He will be putting up some 20+ppg, 9 ast, 5 rb, 2stls regularly. He just has too much drive to succeed and I can't see him as anything less than a star in a few years. I think this year might be pretty telling with him. I fully expect him to double his numbers next this year while improving percentages.
2025 Fantasy Draft Philadelphia 76ers:
PG: Rajon Rondo '11-'12;  WestBrook; Wall
SG: James Harden '18-'19 Marcus Smart
SF: Andrei Kirilenko '05-'06; Peja Stojakovic
PF: Anthony Davis '17-'18;   Kevin Love, Griffin
C: Amare Stoudemire '04-'05;   Marcus Camby

Durant has 0 championships. By your logic you would have traded Tim Duncan as a rookie for some 26 year old superstar.  Because that's crazy talk.

Tim Duncan was a number one overall pick who averaged nearly 21 and 12 as a rookie, so that's not at all the same thing as Smart.

That's actually a good question.  Who was mvp when Duncan was drafted.  It was Karl Malone.  That would have been a very bad trade.

I would trade the entire roster for Durant, but I don't think Durant would be too happy about that.

No, it's really not. Tim's stats in his rookie year were comparable to Malone's stats that year. If Smart averaged 27ppg, like Durant, then maybe it would be a good comparison, but Smart was off of that by about 20ppg.

TP.

If Marcus put up 20 and 10 and ran away with ROY voting then you have yourself a case.

That's a serious statement.  He's 20 years old and there is no reason to trade him.  We'll see in 15 years.
im assuming it was hyperbole.

Anthony Davis.

Unsafe assumption, it seems.

I never said that no.  I did say  he will be a steal and one of the bigger ones yes. Smart and Rozier are going to be very good for us. I don't see the Celtics trading either.  So it's a moot point while you talk about nothing anyways.

Rozier at 16 and the tandem of him and Smart is going to be very good.

agreed.  the only player in the league I wouldn't trade for Durant is Lebron.  someone may be able to talk me into Anthony Davis too but that's about it.
