Perhaps, but Smart will get his minutes whether starting or bench - whether 1 or 2 - I don't think it matters but the fact that we would have so many good combinations of guards it would be tough for teams to defend or matchup.

I don't think bringing in Lawson is a good idea. I believe that if Marcus Smart is to become a franchise player he will do it with the ball in his hands running the point.

If you bring in Lawson and don't move Thomas then that will account for all of the point guard minutes and potentially some of the minutes at the two. I don't want to see Smart only play the 2 and 3 because this will seriously diminish his value.

As to what is next I think they will trade for a SF, but I also wouldn't be shocked if they cut Pressey then went into camp with what they had. That would leave people being squeezed out of the rotation that deserve to play and it's not ideal but there will be injuries and so far everyone who has played for Brad Stevens has had a chance to play at some point.

So Johnson and Jerebko are signed but the Lee trade has not been made yet and obviously we haven't signed Crowder yet. So we are looking at around 7 mil under the cap right? So in the next few days we could sign someone for 7 mil OR make a trade where we take back 7 mil more than we send out. This could be really valuable.

It'll be interesting to see how DA uses it. I'm glad I'm not a GM, because I'd be nervous, given what happened to Dallas (ie, you could see another team swooping in on the DLee trade, or offering more money to Crowder).

If we assume that Danny wants to win as many games as he can this year, than the glaring weakness right now is at center. If we do nothing else how do you think the minutes at the 4 and 5 go?

I believe Johnson and Sully will start and Zeller is first big off the bench. Zeller is a great compliment to IT in the pick and roll. The rest is up for grabs.

If in shape yes, but he could be trade bait also. KO I believe could be gone for a future asset as in a first round pick. Danny will keep accumulating assets if he can't make that splash first.

Good point, to further it: If we start Sully maybe we can raise his value for a trade. Lee's value in a trade  is largely his expiring contract. Sully's value is his potential.

A really good thing for this team would be Sully steps up to 20ppg and we can trade him for someone really good. We don't have a ton of scoring on our team, why not pound the ball into Sully?
