This is crazy isn't it? I don't think Cuban can just show up at Deandre Jordan's house if Jordan refuses to speak with him or take any call or message. In the most basic definition, that would be trespessing and Cuban could be charged with it. Obviously Jordan would not charge him with that, but also Cuban would never just show up at his house without Jordan saying it was ok so that is also crazy. They really should make a 30 for 30 about this.

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I don't know what is more ridiculous, the fact that He thinks a billionaire couldn't find out a famous professional athletes home address or the fact that he's stating "multiple sources" told him this.  So multiple people called him up to give him the insiders info that Cuban doesn't know where Jordan lives...

This is miscommunication where someone probably told him that Cuban couldn't find Jordan meaning he didn't know if he was at the house or if he was somewhere else.  A lot of athletes live in guarded communities and you need to be on the list to get in.  Even my community requires that and I dont have 1/4 the money DJ has.

to get this back to a more serious level of discourse, and i know we have some lawyers on here, is there anyway broussard can get in trouble if he is just making this up (and at least be forced to apologize or issue a retraction). I think speculating on rumors about player transactions is one thing, and obviously all the writers to varying degrees exaggerate or embellish things to get clicks and hits. However, saying that the owner of a team was harassing a player's family to get his home address so he could show up uninvited really crosses some lines in my eyes that you can't do. It probably wouldn't happen, but it is a non-zero chance that a player that is a free-agent in the future may say i don't want to take that meeting with Cuban because if we get close and it doesn't work out he is going to come by my house and contact all my family members to try and meet with me again. (the implications being this could really hurt Cuban's business where as saying you are hearing rumors the celtics are interested in kevin love doesn't hurt anyone's business.)

I would assume agents would be able to let players know about the legitimacy of this. None of it happens in a vacuum, after all.

If Broussard is making this up he'll probably have to issue a retraction but it's unclear as to what sort of 'proof' would validate it one way or another.

I guess there are a few things that could happen.

1) Jordan could come out and say look this has been a long difficult decision and i respect the mavs and all they did throughout their process. I also want to clarify that Marc Cuban did not contact/harass me or my family members and carried himself with class and dignity throughout this ordeal. Ultimately LA is where my heart is and we will move forward from here. I wish everyone involved can move forward from here (this is not likely obviously, but is possible as a means of a damage control for Jordan).

2) Cuban could sue Broussard and his cell phone records could be subpoenaed as part of the case where they would show he has at no time texted anyone in his family. They also could show evidence that Cuban clearly knew where his house was prior to the date. (obviously this is the least likely)

3) Some mystery family members come forward and says "it was me! i told broussard that, that cuban was harassing all of us asking where dj lives all day"

Obviously this is all much less entertaining than what will really happen which is most likely, nothing. However, the fact there is a 100k challenge and twitter exchanges is more than I had hoped for TBH.

I didn't like Mark for his nonstop yapping back in the days, but I guess I can start liking him again.

While they are at it, him and Howard Beck should post the info on the KLove meeting with the Lakers :D :D

Can also confirm @Chris_Broussard report from last night: Kevin Love will be meeting with the Lakers. And I'm told they have a shot.

Seriously there is really no such thing as journalistic integrity anymore

Journalistic integrity, as always, remains the byproduct of an individual reporter's discretion.

You would not casually dismiss that tweet, for example, if it came from Woj.

There is a civil claim called "libel" that imposes civil liability for communicating a false statement about another person using the written word, including, believe it or not, twitter, and thereby causing harm to that person's reputation or business. To prove libel in this context (journalist talking about a public person), Cuban would likely have to prove that Broussard published the allegedly false statements knowingly or with a reckless disregard for their truth. This is a very high standard and in these circumstances, would likely be very difficult to prove.

That being said, Cuban has gobs of money and lawyers. Just by filing a lawsuit he would probably make life uncomfortable for Broussard (who would, no doubt, be defended on the ESPN/Disney dime). But the probability that Cuban would win a judgment forcing Broussard to pay him money is exceptionally low. Plus, it just doesn't seem like Cuabn's style. Broussard's punishment, more likely, will be in the court of public opinion, if it turns out he is just making this stuff up.

Where ever Broussard lives, Cuban and his brother should just take a flight to that city and drive up to his house and take selfie there.
