Hoped to see Young more involved in the offense.  I'm not discouraged by his missed 3's -- no big deal.    Nice pass on the alley-oop to Buckner, but I liked the space he created on the pull-up -- wanted him to shoot that.

Thought Smart would use these games to try to work on his mid range game. Not chuck threes.

He should be driving to the rim and getting to the line and shooting threes more than midrange.  I don't think that should be his focus at all.
Seems like he's just chucking up threes and not even looking at breaking his man down. Maybe he cant.

These announcers are driving me nuts.  Their love for the state of Utah, Jerry Sloan, Big Dog, Dante Exum, and everything else to do with the Utah Jazz is nauseating.

You must not watch a lot of games called by home team announcers.  Pretty typical.

Really?  he has been playing really well and driving far more than he ever did last year.  He has been great passing too.  Last thing we need is another Avery shooting long twos.

Holmes looked terrible on both ends.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Young still looks like Young. Can't shoot.

The only Celtics that have any positive to their game tonight so far is Smart and Rozier looks okay. None of them can rebound. They make I think it's Looney on Utah look like Tristan Thompson.  Ugly so far. Not impressed

First half thoughts:

Overall, pretty much everything about Smart's play has impressed me. Only minus would be thr shot selection, though in the summer league game, it's not exactly "regular season game" conditions. It's kind of run n gun.

With some development, Mickey could turn out to be a solid energy big man off the bench in the Bass/Maxiel/etc mold. I like the fact he can hit that jumper.

Rozier looks super quick. Has shown some positive stuff out there.

Young has been disappointing overrall. But we should temper expectations. He still is the youngest player on the court. He has some more growing up to do. I do think he is pressing a little bit. Missed some open shots. Just needs to get one in to boost that confidence.

Still don't have anyone who can rebound.

CJ Fair easily wins the most ostentatious sneaker of the night award.

Well Smart looks to have improved in every area except shot selection. I'm liking Rozier, too. His body type and movements remind me of a young Rondo or Schroeder.

My concern with Smart is that he is taking poor shots because he doesn't feel confident he can get to the rim. Ironically, I think their two nicest half-court possessions were initiated by 1. him posting from about 12 feet out, and 2. him getting deep in the paint and catching in the post, then kicking it out for an open J.

I can't imagine coaches wouldn't emphasize him focusing more on driving and/or posting. That'd be some really crappy coaching.

It makes me feel bad for them and glad to be a celtics fan. I mean, they keep showing Sloan like he's Red Auerbach or something, and he looks like he doesnt even know where he is. Mehmet Okur is their other hero. He was an ok player and now he looks like a fat old bum who is bored to be there. Then they talk about Exum as if he's the second coming of Michael Jordan, while he looks pathetic on the court and Smart is totally outplaying everyone on the floor.

I actually remember when Jerry Sloan was a player, Smart kind of reminds me of him.

Smart had what, 15 points in the first half. Not bad, but out of control at times. Young still looks like the same player he was last season. Hunter's shot looks close. Rozier looks pretty decent, but some bad passes. Mickey looked good in the first quarter, lost in the second.

Celtics lead the summer league in diving on the floor for loose balls.

Very good first quarter, sorry second.

Reminds me more of Reggie Jackson

[dang] you're right man! Movements and everything. Thankfully he is a better defender already than him.

Just wish the announcers would tell us who Celtics are that scored or rebounded....I know about five of them by sight

John Holmes has failed to rise to the occasion so far.  (First time this sentence has ever been written.)
