Lost all respect for DeAndre.

Coward move.

He's not allowed to change his mind?

Aren't some forms of verbal agreements legally binding in other areas?
It depends... did they shake on it?  Was DeAndre crossing his fingers?

http://thelawdictionary.org/article/is-a-verbal-agreement-legally-binding/

So apparently they usually are legally-binding, but enforceability is an issue. I know the moratorium restricts signing contracts themselves, but I wonder if the Mavs could argue that the verbal agreement was a promise to sign the contract, or something of that nature.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Do you guys think we might see some changes to the moratorium now? This makes the league look stupid.

Update July 8, 2015:

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
The terms in play now from Clips for Jordan, sources say, are five-year max deal in excess of $110 million with player option after Year 4

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine
Mavs, sources say, still have not heard directly from DeAndre Jordan since TUES and now concede there's zero hope of changing his mind again

They are also playing video games inside DJ's house. One source who left the meeting said, "It's done. I wouldn't have left if it wasn't."

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Yahoo Source: Clippers, DeAndre Jordan meeting was short. It was clear he was returning to them. Then they started to play cards.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
DeAndre Jordan needs an agent certification on contract, invalid without it. Agents are expected to join Clippers, Jordan tonight at house.
I read these reports of the team staying at DeAndre's house and waiting for him to sign and get the distinct impression that DeAndre must have a child's mentality... like he was pouting because he's not the focus of the offense and then they were like "it's ok buddy... come back home... here's a cookie... let's play some Pokemon until it's time to sign a contract"

Mavs now have a ton of cap space and need a starting big man. Let's flip DLee to them for their 2018 pick (do they still have it?). Extra bonus of keeping them out of the bottom seven so we actually get their pick this year. Unlikely but it would be classic Danny Ainge :p
I dont think Dallas has anything that interests BOS that they would be willing to give up. I think Javale McGee might make a lot of sense for them.

He's had mental issues all the way back to college. He wanted to be wooed which is sad.

They can be.  But the CBA, which governs all contracts for NBA players, specifically says that no agreements are good during the moratorium period.  That will trump anything else.

For real?  I know nothing about him.  Just the way the details of this are coming out make me think the guy is prone to emotional impulse decisions and they had to reel him in.   Like a child who ran away from home and then started crying his eyes out at the bus stop.

Poor DeAndre...

One thing boggles my mind in today's drama: reading all these Broussard tweets makes me wonder how does this guy still have a job...

Cuban driving all over Dallas town to beg for Jordan's address? What?? Lol...

Sounded ridiculous. How would Cuban not know where he lived? Those sauces Broussard gets must be mighty tasty.

It actually has less to do with this than the general ecosystem of NBA free agency. Think about it: the moratorium is in effect as much for the owners as it is for the players.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

In other class of 08 news, JR Giddens reneged on a verbal agreement to transfer from bowling pin setter to concessions.
